What's a hollaback girl?

I just heard the song Hollaback Girl on the radio and I was wondering what hollaback means. I looked it up in the dictionary and it's not there so I'm assuming it's some kind of slang.

If it means something bad, please forgive me for asking about it.

I dont know what Gwen means by hollaback. BUT when we say holla back, it means respond (holla) back. Also, "ill holla at you later" = Call you later..and so on.lol. Hope that helps. im sure others could give a better explanation.

I honestly haven't listened to that song forever, and can't remember it's context though, or if that's the way it's used... we're sooo white in this thread, it's true.

Just played the song on the computer so I could remember how its used... "Hollaback girl" is basically a girl that you cannot holla back at. You can't leave her for someone else and use her as your fall back girl.

People never seem to read links, Links. I somewhat agree with this, although I think what she's getting at in the song is that someone is saying she's "easy" (a hollaback girl), and that is the reason she's planning on fighting.

wikipedia's only better because it has background on alot of stuff, but for sheer humor, Urban Dictionary owns.

I've found myself with stomach cramps from laughing so hard at the things I've looked up on UrbanDictionary.

Some of the sample sentences that some of those people come up with are priceless.

And yes, I would be banned as well for sharing some of the "slangs" that I've looked up.
