Hey guys, just a quick question.

I really want to improve my prayer life and want to have a structured daily prayer time, but I don't know how to do it or which prayers I should say and in which order. Praying has always been rather difficult for me sadly. I've heard the Daily office and Morning Prayer/Evening prayer being said as part of ones daily prayer life, but I really do not understand how to pray it. I have a book of common prayer which has morning and evening prayer in, but in it it talks about the priest saying one part and me saying the other parts. Safe to say i'm completely lost. Does anybody here know how to pray these prayers?

Thank you for your time,
God Bless!

At times I have found podcasts to be very handy. Hear is one place Pray-as-you-go . . . daily prayer for your MP3 player to find some. Also if you are able to find a Church that does them, it can be a very handy way of building the discipline.

Also the A Prayer Book for Australia has two sets of morning and evening prayers in it that are very easy to use. The first order is closely based off the 1662BCP and the second is strongly influenced by them but very readable and there is no content that requires a person in orders. Because we are backwards down hear it is not available online but you can order it hear (Koorong - Christian Books, Bibles, Music, DVD and more. Browse, search and order over 150,000 products.) I find this format of the book to be the most useful for me.

If you have an IOS device, you can set up the MyCofE app and get the daily office from there.
unfortunately all it does is pull the data of the Internet on demand - and therefore requires a connection when you want to pray - and it doesn't know about time zones.

While I cannot post links, this website really helped me understand how to do Morning and Evening Prayer:

stgeorgesardmore.wordpress.com/the-daily-office-tutorial/

It also shows you where the tables are in the BCP (1979) and how to use them for determining the Pslams, Readings, Collects, and Canticles.
