To some extent, I do what everybody else does. I eat my breakfast, wash the dishes, go to work, etc. But I assume you mean the explicitly religious components of my life.

1. Prayer/worship: I gather with other Christians on Sunday mornings to pray and celebrate the Eucharist together. This is both an offering to God and an opportunity to receive God's grace in a tangible way. Occasionally, I attend additional mid-week services. Privately, my prayer life is a (somewhat haphazard!) combination of silent meditation, informal conversational prayer, and more structured prayers based on the Book of Common Prayer.

2. Study: As time permits, I study the Bible and read books on theology. Most recently, I've been reading Esau McCaulley, Nadia Bolz-Weber, and N. T. Wright.

3. Work: The job I do for pay is teaching at a university, but I also consider this a ministry, informed by my calling as a Christian to follow the teachings of Jesus. I teach students to think more clearly, thus using and celebrating the intellect that God has created in all of us. I make an effort to see each of my students as valuable and complex people made in the image of God, and loved by God. As part of this, I work with them to accommodate the difficult things they may be going through in life, to give them flexibility in completing their coursework if they need that, and to let them know that I care about them as people, not just as entries in my spreadsheet. And, more formally, I do work in "DEI" ("diversity, equity, and inclusion") in my department, developing pedagogy and curricular resources to make my field of computer science welcoming to as wide a variety of students as possible, regardless of ethnicity, economic background, gender, or family structure.

And, of course, I try to be a kind and compassionate person in my everyday life. I hope we're all trying to do that, regardless of our religious affiliations.

One thing we do not do is promote ourselves or our charity to the world.
What if I said I pray publicly, give to the poor, or perform religious rituals publically? I will be accused of doing all this for show and a reward on this side of heaven. So, I am not sure what you are asking us to do. So I am just going to remain silent and let it ride before the Lord.

OTOH Jesus said:
Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

So some of this has to do with those in the audience. What is it you are wanting to prove, if anything? If someoe wants to find fault, they will find what they are looking for. At least in their own mind.

Walk in the Holy Spirit, obey the NT and depend wholly on God for his provision.

Well... this forum is anonymous... I don't know you.

I don't think talking about how you live as a Christian is letting your left hand know what your right hand is doing...

But from what you say, what Christians do is somewhat secretive?

As of late, I try to live my life loving others unconditionally. I always tell people at the stores to be Blessed, I pray for others as I see them on street corners. I've offered a ride to an addict and gave him cash giving him my testimony. When I walk I give thanks to God's creation and the beauty. I try to bless and not curse when a car pulls out in front of me. It's about loving humankind.

The hardest part is controlling my judgmental thinking and my ego and on these forums it's a test (and fail). I meditate and pray to be of the same mind as Jesus.

I watch historical Chinese movies and I relate Buddhists to monasteries. What do you do living as a Buddhist?

I was thinking to ask this too. I assume you have a discipline of meditation that you follow, and that you have principles from Buddhism that you follow in your daily life. Could you tell us about your life as a Buddhist?

Not really, just youtube videos because of stress. I am open to a lot of ancient remedies.

hey guys, what if you know the scriptures, have faith to remove mountains, give all your goods to the poor and give your body to be burned, and still dont have charity, do you think you can be a christian without not being puffed up.

, did you guys know/ understand that charity is what edifies and gives belief, but believing in yourself having correct knowledge, is what instead puffs up all.

follow the words of god, stop giving our own great swelling words of vanity, when that which is perfect is come is when you put off vaunting of yourselves, when you put on charity, the bond of perfection, if anyone is left to believe that is how Jesus Christ layed his life down for the brothers, and you ought to lay your lives down also.

1 Corinthians 8:1
Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

1 Corinthians 13:10
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Colossians 3:14
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

1 John 3:16
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Who is to judge certainly not you. Only God knows our hearts and not anyone on this forum because of how they interpret what they read. Peace

Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

Matthew 7:16
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

My practice as as Buddhist is a little sloppy when it comes to formal practice. I have a formal practice called Ngondro that involves prayers and chanting and prostration, but I don't really practice it regularly.

More informally I practice Metta meditation. This involves prayers for the well-being of all beings. I also sometimes do Tonglen meditation if somebody is ill or suffering, in which I imagine their problem as a dark cloud that comes out of them and into me, so I take it instead of them out of compassion.

Mainly, I do silent meditation. I start focusing on on my breath but then extend that to everything that enters my awareness.

In my daily life, I like to go for walks, usually barefoot, and try to bring my awareness to nature and feel a connection with nature. I try to be kind and think of others.

I try to practice the five basic rules that all lay Buddhists follow.
1.. No harming any living being.
2.. no stealing.
3.. no sexual misconduct.. cheating etc.
4.. no false, abusive or gossip speech.
5.. no intoxication with drink or drugs.

For work, I'm a psychotherapist.. though me and my wife are also going through the process to become foster carers.

We fall down, we get back up. We fall down, we get back up. We fall down, we get back up.

Proverbs 4:19
The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Isaiah 42:16
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

John 11.9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

1 John 2:10
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

I start focusing on on my breath but then extend that to everything that enters my awareness.

the reason we die is because of not having a conscience that god is god, and man is man, that god is life, and man is death, Christ dies for all men because he never sees death we are in an evil conscience without that awareness.

Hebrews 10:22
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

In my daily life, I like to go for walks, usually barefoot, and try to bring my awareness to nature and feel a connection with nature. I try to be kind and think of others.

I try to practice the five basic rules that all lay Buddhists follow.
1.. No harming any living being.

we have a connection with nature, as man has no advantage over the beasts, all have one breath, all return to the ground, all is vanity.

harm is done on every living creature by denying the one who created us all, we all went into the ark of noah, two by two, all others were drowned, because we are saved by water, the baptism of the holy ghost, in a good conscience that god raised Christ from the dead, without the free gift of the holy ghost from the holy one, we have belief in ourselves and in men, which is the darkened conscience and reason we all died for in the first place.

Ecclesiastes 3:19
For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

1 Peter 3.9 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

2.. no stealing.
3.. no sexual misconduct.. cheating etc.
4.. no false, abusive or gossip speech.
5.. no intoxication with drink or drugs.
to love others as we love ourselves is to believe that god is love, to believe that this charity, is not puffed up, does not vaunt itself, because we are aware we needed a saviour and shepherd of the sheep to do that for us, otherwise we are stealing from his name, and replacing his with our own, it is a speech that promotes death to all who hear it, it is immoral, as reprobates deny the only morality is against the antichrist spirit that denies that Christ has come in the flesh, this is an antichrist and a liar, it is being drunken in the night to not watch for Christ with those of the day.

Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

1 Corinthians 134 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

1 Thessalonians 5.6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 Peter 2:25
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

So you've never fallen into sin as a Christian?
sin is unbelief.

John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Romans 14:23
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Christ sets us free from unbelief, to the full assurance of the faith.

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Colossians 2:2
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Hebrews 6:11
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

Hebrews 10:22
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
