The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. i feel like I can‘t listen to my debauchery blues show on Sunday any more.
i feel like I should move on. Jesus Loves You. He is good even in our suffering. Take an hour to pray it out with Him, repent, humble yourself and He will lift you up. It always makes me feel better. Try it everyday, be creative and get stronger behind it. read and pray everyday and everything will be ok. If you have no energy, do it a little bit. Get your mind off yourself. It helps. ‘ Be still and know that I am God.’

Hello,
I have war-induced PTSD thanks to serving in Afghanistan, and depression is never 100% gone from me unfortunately. Due to life events and circumstances I feel pretty rejected and let down currently. Have been for a while. Kids are grown living their lives, and I thank God for that! I still work FT. My chief concern is rejection by the one who pledges to love me most in this life:my wife.
Although she’s a very good woman, she throws the I love you word around often and has a servant-spirit. I believe it’s genuine. But she never initiates intimacy at any level. If she happens to be headed out to the store she’ll give me a peck and say I love you. But that’s about the extent of it. We go to bed and she will lay there and watch TV and not even kiss me or tell me goodnight. Rarely is there a good morning kiss. And beyond this she won’t initiate any deeper intimacy and if I try to initiate anything further it just gets shut down. Sometimes with excuses like stomach ache or sometimes just no, period. No discussion. And she goes on like everything is OK.
I’ve tried talking to her months ago and it all gets dismissed. This really hurts a guy. Just as if it would here if things were opposite and it was me rejecting her. We are Christians and our marriage is founded on being Christ-like to each other. I’m trying, even thru all this to maintain this.
I’d appreciate any advice from similar interactions some of you’ve had. And please let me know if this is not the right forum for this. I’m new.

Hey brother, not married myself, but I think this forum has some people/threads about those kind of marriage problems: Married Couples
This "how are you feeling" thread we have here used to be one where people pretty much talked about all things, but it's gotten quiet as many members have left, and people in general don't seem to want to type much for whatever reason, it's like 90% of the forum consists of cellphone text messages.
Hope you find people who can help you with the marriage thing. Christ be with you brother and all your loved ones
