Post-modernism is characterised by subjective bubbles of consciousness weighted equally by a morally relativistic culture. But Christians do not have to be bound by that. Accepting biblical authority, the Nicene Creed, a mainstream global historical view of church teaching, hard scientific fact and solid historical research are all ways to break those bubbles.I wasn't denying that Christianity has been in the historical mix of ideological and political direction in "The West." Obviously, it has.
What I'm implying, however, is that Enlightened Modernism has simply turned in upon itself and become complicated over time, resulting in smaller, individualistic adoptions of the larger paradigm. The resulting humanistic definitions are ethically questionable. And that state of questionableness is present before we decide to also open a Bible and see what it has to say about it all.
