The Soccer Tournament (TST) kicked off on Thursday and saw the U.S. Women open their tournament with a 5-0 defeat to Say Word FC.

The U.S. Women team coached by Mia Hamm is the only team consisting of just women on the roster and features household names like Heather O’Reilly, Kristine Lilly and more.

Say Word FC comprises young talent, mostly aged 18 through 20, with college and lower pro league experience. The team is taking this tournament seriously and did a two-week training camp in May with two practices each day.

This is why biological men should not compete in women's sports.

This is humilating.

Even if everyone competing agrees to it?
It’s unfair to the real women competing. Biological males belong in men sports only. Period.

Yes. I do not like seeing women being humiliated by men, even if they are asking for it.
Sounds patronizing. Like you know better than them the risk they are signing up for. Why do you feel women should be treated like children?

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. But chivalry still exists with some people. I would also add that if a woman thinks she can compete with men, yes, I believe I do know the risk better than they do.

Why? I've heard plenty of people, talking about lesser teams playing much better teams that they need to "man up," that you won't get better if you don't play better competition (to include some football games where a team is up 60-0). So why shouldn't women do the same, particularly a US soccer team that is looking for how to improve the team. It is worth noting that pretty much every women's college basketball team has a "men's team" that they practice against, typically made up of former high school players who decided (or weren't recruited) for a college team. As an example, here is an article about the UConn women's basketball practice squad.

What if everyone competing agrees to it?
If everyone agrees to it, there's no legal objections, but it'll turn whatever sport they're playing into a joke where everyone can predict the outcome before.

If "Hey, we lost 14-0, but at least it was inclusive" is what's important to them, then who am I to stop them?

...but I'd be better not hear any of that whining about "we should be paid as much as the men's leagues" that we've heard from all of the women's leagues if they gleefully get on-board with something that will further harm ticket sales and interest in their athletic league.

Maybe doing away with women's sports altogether is the goal? Saying you support women's sports and in the same breath say men should be allowed to participate in them, is illogical.

Maybe we let adults make decisions for themselves and stop treating women like children to be protected from their own decisions.
Men should protect women, even from themselves.

Okay, then transgenders shouldn't compete in women's sports. Looks like they have made the decision. Unfortunately in the current situation, they either play against them or forfeit. We have put women in a lose/lose situation.

According to a new Gallup poll, 69 percent of Americans believe that athletes who identify as transgender should only compete on teams that match their biological sex, or what Gallup calls “birth gender.” This represents a 7 percent increase from when the same question was asked in May 2021.

I don't think it got that bad, although they did lose 12-0 to the powerhouse that is Wrexham Red Dragons at the same football-ish tournament a couple of years ago

I wonder, has Team USA women's soccer team ever scored against men?

Who said anything about transgender? I’m saying an adult woman should be perfectly free to decide on her own if she wanted to compete against men. Some here seem to think a woman should not be allowed to make that decision herself. They claim to know better than she does what she can handle. That is the definition of patronizing.
