If Black Lives Matter blocks the freeway in Minnesota there are no charges. There were no charges against any BLM mob members who beat up a truck driver, a driver who did an incredible job avoiding running over protesters on the freeway. They would throw the book at pro-lifers or any conservatives who did the same.

He has to make restitution and this policy of diversion apparently has a very good success rate.
The decision was probably agreed upon by prosecutor and defense attorneys.
And seeing all the love letters, go fund me money, and gifts the healthcare CEO's murderer is getting in NY, they might have been afraid the Minnesota jail would have similar problems dealing with a similarly popular celebrity inmate.

Hopefully he will face federal charges on a hate crime.

"A 19-year-old Robbinsdale woman with no criminal record was charged with first-degree felony property damage on Monday after she allegedly keyed her coworker’s car at the White Castle in Brooklyn Park."

19 years old and she is being charged with a felony. It's going to take Democrats to stand up and say this double standard is wrong in order for things to change.

How many are in jail across the country for the 50 or so felony counts that a president was protected from by the Supreme Court's immunity decision?
In Arizona right now there are Trump affiliates facing trial for crimes he was called an unindicted co-conspirator in.
If you want to talk inequal justice we have at least a month's worth of discussing there.

This should be easy to see without trying to obscure by involving Trump or Biden. Same prosecutor, same crime--quite different results.

Of course there will be different results. Even with the same prosecutor and the same crime, the defendant is different, so the evidence would be different. Criminal trials are decided on the evidence.

Using Trump and Biden purely as examples, look at it this way: If the NY DA prosecuted both Biden and Trump for the same crime, say for example NY state law 175.10, the evidence against both would be completely different, so the verdict would also be different. For Trump, there was tons of evidence that he committed the crime, and that was sufficient to convince the jury to return a guilty verdict. For Biden, there is no evidence he ever even did business in NY state, so there wouldn't be any evidence he falsified business records, so he couldn't be found guilty.

That's the baloney that got Trump elected. The 19 year old received a criminal sentence, the State employee was given a break because he vandalized a Tesla, and Elon Musk is hated by the progressives.

I really like these government-is-broken-because of the action of [Out-group] threads.
It’s doublethink to assume that a prosecutor is incompetent/crooked/biased when they do their jobs and not prosecute some minor vandalism like this.
This is entirely “normal”, why are we excited, again?

No baloney. That's how criminal trials work. Verdicts are decided on the evidence.

The 19 year old received a criminal sentence, the State employee was given a break because he vandalized a Tesla, and Elon Musk is hated by the progressives.
I haven't seen the evidence in either case (and, I'd wager, neither have you), so I can't speak to why the outcomes are different. If you want to make the case that the court showed favoritism to one defendant over another, you'll have to provide evidence of that.

Merely asserting it without evidence isn't very convincing. Not to me, nor would it be to a jury.

-- A2SG, it could simply have come down to one defendant had a better lawyer than the other, nothing more insidious than that.....

Same crime, a nineteen year old with no criminal record gets prosecuted, the older guy who vandalized the Tesla does not. As obvious as can be.

Since it’s the NYP and I’m on Firefox (which do not play well together on my “Hillary era” iPad), I request the mobile version and can scroll all the way down to the bottom where we can all read,

This is (deferred-prosecution] an approach taken in many property crime cases and helps to ensure the individual keeps their job and can pay restitution, as well as reducing the likelihood of repeat offenses,” the attorney’s office said in a statement, CBS News reported.
We can’t “lock them all up”, why would we try?

He’ll get a promotion in a few months. A reward. He’s a hero in Minnesota.

Good for him. I’m sure he’s learnt his lesson and will make the best use of his second chance.

The system works.

Yes, he is. He is also not a Democrat. Neither are required to be the victim of a hate crime.
My understanding is that Tesla cars or cars in general are not a protected class.
