Their rational seems to be that they would rely on border patrol identification, we know that border control has in the past issues arrest warrants and TSA was accepting those as ID. From what I understand (if anyone had additional information please feel welcome to chime in) it's a free mobile application, it could be used on Google or Apple. In my opinion, the idea is to get as many from other nations into our country as they can. People that come from places like Haiti or Venezuela and Cuba can just fill in the information before they come to the United States. They can even take a selfie. They make an appointment to be processed at a point of entry to the United States. You fill in information, just like you might with Walmart or whoever if you wanted to make an appointment to get a COVID immunization shot.
So the whole point of CBP One is to set up appointments for migrants to meet with migration officials before they are allowed to enter the country. They have ID numbers that match the CBP One records.
