A Capitol Police timeline obtained by Just the News shows the Trump Pentagon first offered National Guard troops to the Capitol Police on Jan. 2, 2021, four full days before the event. The police turned down the offer but then began to have second thoughts. The Capitol Police then asked their political minders — the House sergeant at arms chief among them — for permission to accept the troops on Jan. 4 but were turned down on the ground that such a show of force would create bad "optics," the records show. . .

Despite the warnings, the president’s offer of troops wasn’t accepted and the Capitol Police did not take a security posture on Jan. 6 commensurate with the threats.

To date, the House committee investigating Jan. 6 hasn’t provided a complete explanation why.

From yon article:
“If Donald Trump wanted to incite violence that fateful day, as his critics suggest, then why did he order the Pentagon to have a large military force ready to quell a disturbance?”

This isn’t the “good thing” the OP seems to want it to be.
Having “a large military force ready to quell a disturbance…” would have been necessary if he had invoked the Insurrection Act and declared martial law for the District of Columbia.
But Vice-President Pence would not leave the Capitol and this contingency plan wasn’t implemented.

How long would it have taken to have "invoked the Insurrection Act and declared martial law for the District of Columbia"? Remember that the time period in question was three hours.

LOL I suppose that's why he told people to go over to the Capitol PEACEFULLY and PATRIOTICALLY and to let their VOICES be heard. Oops, did the select committee forget to show that clip too?

Why would you mobilize troops to perform police actions!?

Since the President is CINC of DC National Guard, I'd say less than 10 minutes to make a few phone calls.

Unfortunately we don't have T****'s phone records of that day because he was using burner phones to cover up his criminal activity.

As a former member of the National Guard I can tell you it takes at least days and likely weeks to assemble anyone to do anything. The timeframe in question -at least from what the prestigious January 6th Committee has proven- was three hours. Trump spoke to the protestors until after 1 pm on January 6, then spoke to them again at 4 pm telling them to go home. That is not an unreasonable amount of time.

So you're moving the goal posts from:
"How long would it have taken to have invoked the Insurrection Act and declared martial law for the District of Columbia"?"
to 'how long would it take to active, recall, assemble and deploy the Guard?'

Because, again, the insurrection act being invoked and declaring martial law in D.C. could have taken ten minutes if T**** wanted to do so.

He didn't because he was hoping the coup/insurrection would succeed for 187 minutes.

Let's start removing those who made the strongest fighting statements, Joe Biden, Kamala, and Chuck Shumer, they never added peacefully and patriotically and voices. Once we get a few hundred Democrat politicians indicted then we can talk about President Trump.
I've cited actual language that the speakers on 1/6 used to whip the insurrectionists into a frenzy that morning. Could you cite, within a 1/6 context, whatever it is that you're referring to?

So you're dishonestly moving the goal posts from:
"How long would it have taken to have "invoked the Insurrection Act and declared martial law for the District of Columbia"?"
to 'how long would it take to active, recall, assemble and deploy the Guard?'

He didn't because he was hoping the coup/insurrection would succeed for 187 minutes.

Well I'm not dishonestly doing anything at all. The problem here is that you are living in a world of hindsight and using that hindsight to build a "what-if" case. The result is "what if someone could have known the future" and then "since someone could have known the future they should have known the future and acted on some timeline or another". The real world doesn't work that way.

Now, at what point do you think Trump should have invoked the insurrection act and what would have been the result?

To remove any doubt: Not only did Donald Trump fail to contact his Secretary of Defense on January 6th (as shown in our hearing), Trump also failed to give any order prior to January 6 to deploy the military to protect the Capitol.

Here is Secretary Miller’s testimony:

Clearly ACTING secretary Miller is a lying, RINO, un American, Communist, sleazy dirty rat who will say anything to appease his unethical Democratic handlers during this unlawful witchhunt against the Greatest President who ever walked the earth.

"For 187 minutes on January 6th, this man of unbridled destructive energy could not be moved, not by his aides, not by his allies, not by the violent chants of rioters, or the desperate pleas of those facing down the riot. And more tellingly, Donald Trump ignored and disregarded the desperate pleas of his own family, including Ivanka and Don Junior.

Even though he was the only person in the world who could call off the mob he sent to the Capitol, he could not be moved to rise from his dining room table and walk the few steps down the White House hallway into the press briefing room, where cameras were anxiously and desperately waiting to carry his message to the armed and violent mob savagely beating and killing law enforcement officers ravaging the Capitol and hunting down the vice president and various members of Congress."
-Liz Cheney

"The mob was accomplishing President Trump's purpose, so of course he didn't intervene. Here's what'll be clear by the end of this hearing. President Trump did not fail to act during the 187 minutes between leaving the ellipse and telling the mob to go home. He chose not to act."

Who is Adam Kinzinger trying to kid?
After years of supporting former President Donald Trump trying to advance his own career, Congressman Adam Kinzinger of Illinois’ 16th District is pandering to the anti-Trump tar and feathering by the news media and the Left. Not because he thinks what Trump did was wrong, but because he sees a real opportunity to politically benefit

What was the purpose if linking to a sneering, churlish blog entry? I didn't see anything in there about the National Guard.

Sure, that's why he's not even running for reelection.

Incidentally, that's why he's free to speak his mind. He doesn't need to suck up to Trump or Trump's base.

Yes, I understand you will never understand a man (or woman) who puts his country first.
