Neither Trump (the topic of the thread) nor Harris (about who's policies you just made a claim) are concepts or philosophies. They are individuals with actual records, statements, and proposals. This is a dodge.
My focus has never been on Trump or Harris, but rather trying to show you and others what we think on a deeper level - *why* we think the way we do... Im sharing good information!

...If you don't want to understand other people's point of view, then what's the purpose of this forum?

You made a literal claim about the policy position of a specific politician. Now you want to avoid discussing or backing that claim because you like to discuss the "deeper level". SMH.

So when Kamala Harris says she wants to end all policing in America, we should either take her seriously, or assume she is unfit for office.
(I understand, it is not a defensible quote with no connection to reality.)

You don't seem to understand what I'm saying. I'm not a tit-for-tat guy, I'm into concepts, philosophies, etc... You know - the high-end part of human thinking.
Too easy to mischaracterize with "high-end" thinking.

I wish, honestly, that I could see through the eyes of a democrat, just for a minute. Just to see what it's like.

..That's my honest wish. Just to understand.
I study semantics particular to psycholinguistics (The meanings behind words in thought). I submit that there is no such thing as seeing or thinking like a Democrat. You're speaking out of your own imagination. Democrat is just a label for a party platform so as to nominate candidates for public office. Also, observe this foundational political true dichotomy denoting the delegation of power---> Democracy/Autocracy. That fundamental dichotomy will explain where most people are coming from in their politics in a left/right format.

You'll never find the "truth" in, and you’ll never convince anyone with "tit-for-tat". There are no real winners in political conversations, even though our elections have trained us into thinking otherwise.

...The only real choice we have is to try and understand one another better, by explaining more and showing others things they maybe haven't seen before or thought of.

If you're thinking that you got me there, then it's your loss. You're on a dead end road.

That's a fantastic field of study! Maybe one day you can show us some new things.... Rather than reassuring us of what doesn't exist.

I am all for understanding one another better. But it requires more than innuendo.

What ever lets you sleep at night man. Your are the one who came on a thread about a specific politician, made a ridiculous claim about another politician and then claims to only want to discuss the high stuff on a board about politics. Your claim that VP Harris wants to abolish all policing is nonsense, and you know it.

If you know that it's nonsense and if you've always known it, why did you make the claim that Harris "wants to end all policing in America"?

Because it's as equally dumb saying Trump wants to end Democracy/ elections in America.

...If one side gets to act dumb, the other side gets to act dumb too. Fair is fair, and I made my point.

My absurdity about your Presidential candidate is less absurd than your absurdity about my candidate, therefore I am closer to reality, and thus, ‘win’!

Is this the high-level thinking you’re going with?

I'm not here to "win". My goal is to show you my view.

I am so sorry that you’re unable to convey your view with much aplomb.

Look, it’s still only “just politics”, which shouldn’t affect our day-to-day lives all that much (and when it does is when we are failing at talking with one another with mutual tolerance and respect).

Whoever becomes President on January 20, 2025 I have no doubt that our fine, strong, elegant and courageous Nation will survive, indeed, thrive!
