So let’s pretend Russia invaded Alaska and we went to war, millions died, Canada says they desperately don’t want Russia to take Alaska because they will be next, so they help us. We land at a 3 year stalemate as China and Russia vs America and Canada duke it out over Alaska.
Then U.K. and France step in and offer to broker peace. They negotiate only with Russia and China, not us. They say they’ve found an agreement… We will give Russia Alaska (since it was a part of Russia for longer than it has been part of America anyway), Russia will give us money for the depreciated and ruined state of Alaska due to the war, everybody who lives in Alaska is a Russian citizen now, and Russia super promises to never enter Canada and take more land. Canada is not a part of the deal but vehemently opposes and will support us if we decline the deal.
You really think we should say yes to that? And you think if we say no and then U.K. and France turn around and say “well I guess America doesn’t want peace because we handed them peace so if millions more die and a larger war breaks out, it will be their fault” then they would be right?
Because that’s what you’re asking of Ukraine.
