It would be great if we could get a list of these supposed 75 countries who want to make a deal because I’m willing to bet none of them are Canada, Mexico or China - our three biggest trading partners.

Unlike the radical left in the US - these countries want to work with Trump.
No they don't. That HAVE to work with Trump because he is King of America. It would be miles easier to work with anyone else but Trump as America's head of state.

That's the point thought; Trump makes all these claims and proclamations that 'X' is happening (health care, various peace deals, return of manufacturing, trade deals etc) but they so rarely do.

And the ones that he does make (like the trade deals HE made as 45) he reneges on when it suits him.

Japanese opposition leader:

What the United States is saying is completely unreasonable. Their logic is all over the place and there's no consistency at all. However, when Japan negotiates with what they are saying to be frank it's akin to being extorted by a delinquent.

If Japan gives in thinking it's a negotiation or a deal and compromises on its position, it sets a bad precedent… If you give money to someone extorting you they'll just come back to extort you again….

Looks like Japan have read the Art of the Deal.

I'm sure he's right--but our bases are essential for their national security and prosperity.
The countries he can extort are in big trouble--although Japan could make some trouble dumping the debt they hold.
I am so sorry that voters unleashed this nightmare on our planet. I tried my best to prevent it and I stand insolidarity with the suffering around the world.

I sure hope this doesn't sour Japanese people on America too much. Id love to go back there and bike tour again. I had great interactions with people - as an American.

You could pretend to be Canadian.

Why would they?

It's the Conservative mindset to "placate the bully cause we want him on our side". That's how Trump got elected.

MOST heads of state aren't as enamoured by Trump and his misanthropic, chaos. They actually dislike it. Very few people actually like it other than people who are inattentive to reality and simply take trump at his word for no good reason.

Probably related to this - Japanese investors dumped $20 billion in US bonds today.

That seriously weakens the dollar. China and Japan have been the two largest holders of US bonds, which were considered a safe investment. They look less safe.

It's been two weeks now given claimed "were getting phone calls" with some 70+ countries.
Has there actually been a agreement with anyone of them?
I don't understand why people believe Trump; It must simply be pure desperation.

It takes time to lower inflation, create jobs, make trade deals, deport 11 million people...

This isn't something quick and easy like wiping out trillions on the stock market.

Trump says something, that something doesn't happen, Trump voters are left to provide The Explanation as to why this was a good outcome anyway.

It's the real TDS. Trump says something, that something doesn't happen, Trump voters are left to provide The Explanation as to why this was a good outcome anyway.
It’s like on Family Feud when the question is
“Name something you keep in the refrigerator door” gets answered with “hubcaps” and the family claps and says, “good answer!”

The EU offered that both sides (the EU and the US) will drop their tariffs on the industrial goods, which are similar on both sides, more or less under 3%. Making the trade between the EU and the US effectively tariff-free.

Which is a rational offer, but nothing really revolutionary.

Except, this was immediately denied by Trump, saying that there will not be a zero tariff deal with the EU.
