He's not "attacking trees", it was a move against spending $28,000 in federal funds to plant 16 trees. I just planted 12 native trees on my property, it cost $15.00 from the county. These were small bare-root trees, maybe they were going to plant large trees? Article doesn't say, but native trees grow very quickly and the whole thing could be done for a lot less, especially if the church volunteered labor.

The government taxes a lot of hard working people and then spends $28,000 of taxpayer money, plus the taxpayer money used to pay the salaries of federal employees involved in the administration of grants, to plant 16 trees! Meanwhile the so-called environmentalists, often involved in doomsday predictions just years away, use up massive amounts of jet fuel for their personal transportation--Bernie Sanders, AOC, John Kerry, etc.
