Peace in Christ.
The good news of our mortal salvation is that we shall not perish from this world but shall have an age-lasting life for the duration of this present, evil age because of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead shall also make alive (“quicken”) our MORTAL BODIES by His Spirit.
Living according to the Spirit shall keep our mortal bodies alive (for they are “dead” already because of sin) for the duration of this present evil age. It will give our mortal bodies “eternal life”…that is, an age-lasting life for the here-and-now. It is the Spirit that will keep our mortal bodies standing unto the end of this age (having the age-lasting life).
Romans 8:11 KJV
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
He that endures unto the end….unto the END OF THIS AGE, the same shall be saved as he had not mortally perished from this earth.
Matthew 24:13 KJV
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Then at the end….at the last trump…our mortal bodies (which were kept standing alive here by faith) shall be redeemed: this mortal must put on immortality. Our faith (which is active) in Him and His resurrection shall keep us standing here mortally until then. This (redemption of our mortal body) is what we are to hope for and with patience (endurance) wait for it. But until then, we have "eternal life"....the promised age-lasting life...in this mortal body which lives because of our faith.
Romans 8:23-25 KJV
(23) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
(24) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
(25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
We…who are alive (with an age-lasting life) and remain in this world…shall be changed from mortal to immortal at the redemption of our mortal bodies at the last trump.
We shall have then completely cheated death having never seen it because our faith in Him kept us mortally alive until that moment we put on immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:52-55 KJV
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
This is not about “dying and going to heaven” and escaping hell in the afterlife.
Those who have mortally died (perished) had not heard the truth of the gospel (good news) but have been duped by the preaching of false prophets who had no knowledge of the gospel as their minds have been blinded to it. They lost their souls....their hope and expectations that they had in their hearts before they died. They were met with a "sting" instead.
This is why Jesus forewarned us about false prophets who would come to us to deceive us. They will “kill” us as they will prevent the manifest life of Jesus from appearing in our mortal flesh. We perish under their “pastoring”.

(4) And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
(5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
They…false prophets… have been shepherding the “flock of the slaughter” and their perished victims have suffered the “sting” of death with that realization (realizing that they have been bitten by the poisonous teachings of false prophets) once they have passed away from this world. They missed out on what the gospel truly meant for their mortal bodies here.
We have been witnessing the “generation of wrath” who have perished without the knowledge of the gospel of truth. The wrath of God comes upon the “children of disobedience” as they mortally perish without understanding.
Hosea 4:6 KJV
(6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
They had totally missed the point of the gospel for it is about our mortal salvation in the here-and-now….for the duration of this present evil age we are living in until the redemption moment of our bodies.
Let no man deceive you with vain (empty) words as the wrath of God comes upon them: they mortally perish from this earth under His wrath. They abide in death and have not passed from death unto life. Their words are "empty" of the knowledge of our Lord. They speak into the "air" without any understanding. They are not teaching anyone that they are preaching to.
Eph 5:6-8
(6) Let no man deceive you with vain (EMPTY) words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
We must come out from among their “churches” where they have no knowledge. They have no “light” …no knowledge of the gospel…but are in the “darkness”.
We who now have His knowledge (children of light) must not be partakers with them in their mortal perishing under His wrath that comes upon them.
(7) Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
(8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
We who have His knowledge now were dead in trespasses and sins when we attended their churches where no knowledge is being preached.
Ephesians 2:1-5 KJV
(1) And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
When we listened to the EMPTY (vain) words of Satan’s ministers (the power of the AIR...words having no significance) we were by nature children of wrath even like those who are on the outside world who do not have His Spirit within them.
We were going to mortally perish just like the people of the outside world when we listened to their empty-of-knowledge “preaching”. They have the power of death in their empty words that they speak into the “air” (emptiness of knowledge). The spirit or breath of Satan's ministers bring death to the children of disobedience (disbelief) when they speak empty words that do not bring them mortal salvation by the hearing and belief of the gospel of truth. If they do not hear the gospel of truth, they do not believe in it. If they do not believe in it, then they are not mortally saved as they abide in death...under the wrath of God that comes upon them.
(2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (disbelief):
(3) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
(4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
(5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)
The “air” speaks of their words that do not have any knowledge in them. They preach the gospel without the true meaning which is speaking into the “air”.

(9) So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
Do not let any man deceive you with empty words that bring death.....the power of the air.
