Unfortunately 1 John 5:7 has been revealed to be a spurious addition to the text of John's epistle, it is known as the Johannine Comma. Fundamentalists would deny this, but only because they believe the King James Bible to be the only "true" Bible. The King James Bible is one of the few where the Johannine Comma can be found, along with the NKJV if I'm not mistaken. The Spirit, the water, and the blood are the only witnesses, and those are in earth. I don't believe the Johannine Comma is a major stumbling block to get upset over though. Like I said, I believe in the triunity of God anyway, just not the "persons" stuff that the trinity doctrine asserts.

That isn't inspired scripture. You only see that in the KJV and it's variants. It was a dishonest 'transliteration'. This is common knowledge. Added by trinitarians specifically.

That's why you won't find it in say, the AV or the RV or any scholarly text...

Here's the erroneous version you are quoting out of, the King James Version. The part in green is not from John or inspired by the Holy Spirit;

By the rules of this forum, anyone wanting to display a Christian icon has to affirm Nicene.

If you want to tear Nicene to pieces or trample on it, then change your icon from Christian and say what you like. If you keep the Christian icon, then you are contravening the rules of this forum in denying Nicene.

If you cannot affirm Nicene then you are not a Christian, and your icon bears false witness. It is as simple as that.

Can I remind anyone with a Christian icon on this Forum that having that icon necessarily denotes agreement with the Nicene Creed.

If you want to state that you disagree with any of it, you will have to lose the icon first, or risk being reported for violating the conditions of membership; I really wouldn't want that to happen to anyone.

I personally affirm Nicene in its entirety, and am very happy to do so.

There really is but ONE authority who determines who is and is not Christian and it is because of this very subject that was brought up in a different topic as to the reason I started this one.

There are over 3000 different sects to Christiaity and NONE have the authority to determine who is and is not a Christian.Once they assume they have the authority to make such a judgement they walk on the slippery slope and goes against the very teachings of Christ.

I believe it goes like this.."Judge ye not least ye be judged,for what measure you judge,so too will it be measured to you."

To answer your question, you need Christ in you to be saved.
This is a personal intimate "knowledge". The kind of "knowledge" that brings forth the Son of God within you. The kind of "knowledge" where "Adam knew his wife and she conceived" knowledge.
It has nothing to do with intelligence.
It has nothing to do with creeds.

It squarely has to do with whethe you "know" Jesus. Not "of His teachings". Judas knew his teachings. But He didn't "know" Jesus.

The trinity teaching doesn't allow anyone to "know" Jesus.

Here is a question by which the spirits are tested.

What is the NAME of the PERSON who is your Holy Spirit who you have personally invited to dwell in your flesh? Can you answer this clearly and without hesitation?

And please, what scriptures do you assume say that God's justice isn't satisfied in the "MAN" Jesus?

Jesus the MAN, was CHRISTED with GOD. He "submitted" Himself as an obedient man because no other man could. That is how Christ accomplished salvation, in the obedience of Jesus who submitted his self to Christ (Father).

In fact, that exact same thing is the only way in which we are saved. By the obedience of Christ in us, if Jesus is in fact dwelling within us as the Holy Spirit.

It isn't a one or the other kind of thing. There is no such thing as an "incarnation" as the "creed" says. That is eastern paganism.

It is all about sanctification and loving obedience to the Word of God by which only man can live.
