I'll start us off. I've been writing a story *a while* now, and I'm coming to the villain's 'big reveal'. I can do it now, or use one more puppet before I do. Or, I can reveal the villain, and have the puppet show up when they're least expected.

What should I do, fellow writers?

How many 'puppets' have you used? How necessary is it to the plot?

I'd say go for the Big Reveal, have the puppet pop up and make things horribly confusing for your heroes.

Good question. I've probably used three puppets, so far. It isn't necessary to the plot at all. I just wasn't sure which would play better thematically.

Someone who appears to be the villain, but really is just working for someone behind the scenes.

Got it. That's what i thought. Can't have a powerful and surprising antagonist without all his "cogs." My favorite kind of books/ shows (like "The Mentalist", "Ten Indians") are based on this "whodunnit" idea you seem to using in your writing. My question is have you thought about making your villain appear as if he is a puppet? Almost like hiding in plain site.

He is hiding in plain site already. I really love my idea behind this because no one has thought to look at it a different way, so they have the wrong list of suspects.

Cool, so what makes your villian so sinister? Or, is he just misunderstood and caught up in a conflict? My curiosity has been sparked...

Mostly it's their motive is revenge, and world domination of course. It's a fanfic for Teen Titans, so comic villains. lol

The story is mostly about Robin, so Batman and Batman's villains play a huge role. I hated that the series never expanded on the DC Universe, so I try to include more heroes and villains whenever possible.

Yeah, they've developed a couple animated shows off of Teen Titans though, lol. I hope you have "The Riddler, or "Two face". Those are two villians without restraint.
