I found this to be interesting. I'm looking forward to being able to buy an English-translation of the Ethiopic Bible. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has the largest biblical canon of any mainstream Christian denomination.

The Ethiopians are an interesting group. Coptic Christians as well. They fled much farther away from the persecution of 70AD. They were of course separated from the European settlers in terms of beliefs, practices and holy books. Reminds me a lot of the people who left behind the dead sea scrolls. People love to use the DSS to further prove the validity of biblical texts but "forget" to mention that those scrolls also gave us Enoch and all of the gnostic writings.....whoops.

That is interesting; I used to be Greek Orthodox actually. But, the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is part of the Oriental Orthodox communion and not the Eastern Orthodox communion.

This might help put to rest the standard Catholic argument that because their canon is bigger than the Protestant canon of the Bible, it is somehow better and the Catholic Church is the only True Church because of its larger canon. If size really matters in this area of theology, then the Ethiopian Orthodox Church wins, hands down.
