Hello everyone!

My son received a Lego playset for Christmas and he loves it. The problem is that it is a Star Wars theme set and they can sometimes be inappropriate.

I want to create a playset that educates the stories of the Bible so my son learns as he plays.

I've bought a bucket of old Lego bricks and some Lego designer software and I'll build him a playset in time for his birthday!

Has anyone done something similar? I've read the Lego Bible online but I haven't seen any playsets available to buy!

What stories can be told effectively using Lego?

Thank you for reading

This is an awesome idea! I have never heard of Lego Bible Story Playsets before.

I did however do a lesson with a group of 6-10 years old (at church), where I told the story of Noah and then had the children build their own arks using legos.

I've designed a playset based on one of my favourite Bible stories of Moses on Mt Sinai!

It features Moses, his staff, a serpent, 2 "stone" tablets, the burning bush and 2 villagers.

I think my son would love it but I'm interested in any feedback you have on the set before I start hunting for the pieces:)

Guys, this may be one of the best ideas I have heard. And here's why.

My son is in 5th grade. He has been fascinated with Legos for 2 or 3 years. He loves the Star Wars series as well. Now here is where it gets interesting. He had my old movies available his whole life, but until he became interested in the Legos, he had no desire to learn about Star Wars at all. Now, he researches dimensions of star cruisers, which Lego sets came out when and how many pieces there are, which movies each character was in, the name of minor characters in the movie I have never heard of, etc.

The point is, the Lego sets got him interested in the story line. He didn't learn anything from building the sets except how to build Legos, but having so many sets available created a demand on his part to find out more, research, understand why things are what they are.

See where I am going? Biblical Legos, if done in depth and with high quality, could be a HUGE sale to churches all over the world. For Legos, it's millions of $$$ of profit. For Christians, it's a tool to start the learning process, or frontload our kids minds!

I may be placing an email to Legos as well. It would be great to look for Lego's at my local Christian book store instead of Walmart.

Ideas: Ark of the Covenant, the temple, Sampson bringing down the house, Noah's ark, Paul's missionary journey series including ships he sailed on or was wrecked on, Egyptian pyramids and Moses' childhood home, the Garden of Eden, I could go on.

Anyone else have some ideas?

Hi guys!

I've built a Mt Sinai to help teach my son about Moses and the 10 commandments.

I just need to get my Moses figure painted now!

A serious question tho- If I want to teach my son about Moses and the Holy Ghost, should I use a clear "ghost" figure to help with the storytelling?

I also want to see a Garden of Eden Lego- compatible brick set!
