I can sit in front of the exposed monstrance for an hour and still can't here his voice, but in my mind I know God is real. I just pray that when He calls me home that I am in the 'state of grace'.
Feelings come and go.

God is faithful.

If you are faithful He doesn't necessarily need to talk to you?
But to 'feel His Presence' is focusing on your love for Him.

Are you 'agitated' that you are not hearing from Him?
Your agitation blocks your peace.

,,,and that's the only problem you have.
Jesus I trust in You.
And relax.

I'm currently in the state of mortal sin, and will go to confession on Saturday.

Wash, rinse, repeat. It's been nonstop for many, many years now.

Please pray for me.

I need to do better.

God bless
I'm in the same spot bro, I wish I had a traditional priest nearby that I could go to. I feel like they take things more seriously and it'd maybe compel me to ditch my vices for good.

It might help to look at and for the other way - stop relying on defending against temptations, and seek to go on the offensive: look seriously at the beauty of virtue, the glory of purity, the power of holiness. Don't just hide from the devil - seek God. He created you; in Him is LIFE - your LIFE.

The advice above is good and effective for those in "step 2" on the path to holiness. It cannot help for any who are still working on "step 1". Step one is contained in the Lord's Prayer, the "Our Father", when we pray:
"Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." (Mt 6:12)
Jesus comments on this step directly, specifically, because it is essential:
Mt 6:14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you;
Mt 6:15 but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
This conditional requirement of His is Truth, from and of God, and must not be ignored or presumed upon. If we want the forgiveness of God for the ways we have offended, disrespected, ignored and hurt Him, we must forgive those who have offended, disrespected, ignored and hurt us. God who IS truth tells us this. This is "step one", and many have found and rejoiced in this truth. If we want and ask for His mercy, we must become merciful. This is His condition, because it is a step necessary for our entry into His Kingdom - and our salvation, our vocation.

"Step 2" presumes this "step 1", and is the completion of it. If anyone seeks to understand and verify this, ponder it for a while; I believe it will reveal itself in time.

From God or from the priest?
From God, acting through the priest. Your profile says you're a Protestant; that's fine, and you're welcome here, but you cannot ridicule or disagree with Catholic doctrine or practice in this specific forum. Not trying to be prickly, but just providing you with a friendly reminder.

I m new to this website. I read everything without really paying attention Of the religion. We re all Christians and it’s want matters to me. I was raised catholic and my whole family is, so, ridiculing you is far from what I intended to. I was just commenting as to give another idea of what one can do to get closer to God. Sorry

No harm, no foul. :) As I said, you are welcome here; but as you can imagine, we've had our share of non-Catholic people posting in here to show us how "wrong" we are; so we tend to be vigilant in keeping an eye on things. Thanks for posting.
