Depends on the purpose.

Is the Christian trying to wear it to show support for Israel and Judaism? Then, no. Odd, but not offensive.

Is the Christian wearing it becuase he wants to fool Jews into believing he is Jewish too, even tho he has Christian Beleifs? ( Take a look at the Messianic thread in the Congregation forums.) Yea, those people are offensive to me.

I guess it depends on your intentions.

Why would a Christian want to wear a Star of David? No offense to Jews, but I do not wish to wear the symbol of a religion in which I do not believe.

There are times and conditions where one might. When the Nazi troops in Denmark demanded that all Jews in Denmark wear a Star of David, the King of Denmark wore one the next day. As did many Christians in his country. Probably many non-Christian non-Jews as well.

I'd like to think I would have, though it must have been a scary form of non-violent protest. But it worked. The Jews of Denmark were not systematically rounded up and sent to camps.

FYI: The Kings name was Christian. :)

None taken! You don't expect me to wear a cross :)

Certainly not. It wouldn't be right for a non-Christian to wear a cross.

Well yes, that would be one good reason for a Christian to wear a Star of David.

That is why I bought one, but a Christian told me it would be offensive to Jews, and I wouldn't want to if it would be disrespectful, so I thought I'd make sure it's okay. Thanks for the reply!

Well, we tend to see Judaism a "Christianity minus Jesus," since they happen to share our belief in the teachings of the prophet Moses. But I view Judaism as an entirely separate religion. So even if I did support the Israelis, I'd view the wearing of the Star of David as I'd view a crescent moon, or a pagan Hindu symbol.

There's also the issue that Judaism includes a specific disbelief in Jesus. So I couldn't wear a Star of David in good conscience.

I have worn a messianic symbol since my first trip to Israel in 2002. It's made from the Jewish menorah and Christian fish. The tail of the fish and the base of the menorah make the star of David. It's an ancient symbol and was found in 1st century Jerusalem ruins!

The Jews are not entirely without fault. I would support the Palestinians as much as I might support the Jews.

Same here...almost. I think the Palestinians ought to bear slightly more of the blame, since some of them have resorted to terrorism. But it's not as if the Israelis are innocent in this matter.

Remember, there are also many Palestinian Christians. When you side with the Israelis for reasons of end-times fanaticism, you're siding against your brethren in Christ.
