I am KJV only as well and presently attend an Assembly of God church. What you all need to understand is that something sinister is going on with translations of the bible. If Hammster has reason to believe that the translations other than the KJV have been corrupted in any way, if it is true, it is really not the word of God. Hammster is not saying that the word of God should be burned but that these translations that add to and subtract from the word of God are fit for the fire and that for them to be used as a doorstop would be gracious for some of these translations seeing that they have been altered and copywrited. Some translations have limited the deity of Jesus Christ, taken out key words like "the blood" and in some cases like the NIV, they have omitted whole verses. When ministers search diligently through many translations to find a verse or twist a verse to suit their false doctrines, this is much worse than simply taking the word of God as it is written and throwing away man's doctrines.

Now, I have not been formally introduced to Hammster, nor any of you but calling into question his qualifications for being a mod because of his thoughts about other translations seems to be out of fear being that he may be the judge and jury in this case. But, in my perspective, this is a motion taken against him out of fear and misunderstanding by a person who cannot:

Proverbs 3:5-6
King James Version (KJV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I motion that some actions are being done out of fear as well as accusations of "illogical fallacy" instead of being directed by the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will try to find some videos that talk about certain verses that add to and subtract from the word of God. Then as you watch, if you would like to open your own different versions of your bibles to the ones highlighted you can compare. But please be patient, I am busy with some ushering in about an hour and will be away for awhile.

I'm not fond of the archaic KJV, either. But if folks want to use it, that's cool.
