Isaiah 42:3

A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.


Fact is that there are times on this journey where we get knocked around and hurt. And times when we just don't know if we can keep following God and times where we do fail to follow God and those times hurt us too.

In those times where we feel like we're barely smoldering and there is no light coming from us, when we've been beaten up in battle and just managing to hold on thats when it's real good to remember who our Lord is.. a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.

We have a God who is full of compassion and mercy, who loves us even when we fail. We have a high priest in Jesus who became like us and understands our struggles and intercedes for us before the Father. He is a God of grace.

God knows our heart and our struggles in this life. He is so gentle when we are broken and knows what we need even more than we do. He understands where we are when no one else can understand.

How beautifully stated FiG. Yes, His gentleness and knowing exactly where to touch to remove the pain and restore us always amazes me, because it is so frequently in such a simple manner.

41:10 'Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.

Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

Hebrews 12

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
