A Prayer For Love and Compassion

LORD GOD,
YOU WHO ARE LOVE itself,
Teach us to love — not with words alone, but with our lives.
Help us to love each other, even when it’s hard,
Even when we’re hurt, even when we don’t understand.
And most of all, LORD, TEACH us to love YOU —
With all our hearts, soul, mind, and strength.
Because when we love YOU first, everything else falls into place.
HEAL the divisions. Soften the hearts.
MAKE us one, as YOU and THE SON are ONE.
LET YOUR LIGHT shine through us.
LET YOUR PEACE settle over us.
And LET YOUR WILL be done, in us and through us.
In JESUS’ HOLY NAME, we pray.
