I've listened to it. Corey is actually a good singer when not screaming. Although I think he looks better with a mask on, he looks funny in Stone Sour. The one song I liked from slipknot was Left Behind. I liked the guitar on that.

I don't know about any of you, but I like SlipKnot because of how angry they sound, and I don't care what they say in the songs, I also listen to some Japanese bands, and Rammstein(German), I have no clue what they're saying, I only like how it sounds so angry... To me, (besides Christian bands) lyrics are just meaningless words that make the song flow better. I have yet to find a Christian band that sounds just like SlipKnot.

If I bought books on satanism, I would be letting demons have power over me, until I got rid of the books. Having anything associated with the devil in your house is bad because the demons that are attracted to them can affect the owner. Call me wacky, but I have seen some strange things happen and demons are very real. I had a poltergeist in my flat while growing up, but since converting and binning all the stuff that si supposed to eb bad, I haven't heard a thing.

Back on topic, if the pastor's son was listening to it he can't be doing a very good job of teaching his kid if the kid wanted to listen to Slipnot. If he doesn't listen to it, then it has to be because he himself knows why it is wrong, not because his dad tells him it is wrong. Such a harsh punishment IMO, will only make him want to listen to it more.

What would I have done? Sat him down and explained. If the kid wasn't a Christian.. leave him to it.

Anger is a sin.. if you're drawn to the way it sounds bear in mind that there are other things other than Jesus trying to influence you!

But really slipknot are freaks... and I hate to say it but they are the freaks I used to listen to. but when I really started going to church thats when I stopped listening to them... because they are very ungodly

Slipknot are sold-out commercial harlots. The "anger" is feigned, and there's nothing "satanic" about them. It's image, pure and simple.

So well I question the musical taste of anyone listening to Slipknot, I rather doubt they are any more susceptible to demonic possession then they might be otherwise.

I thought "Stronger is he that is living in you, than he that is in the world"?
I didn't realise demons were more powerful than the resurrection power of Christ Jesus?
I guess I have to get rid of everything made by non-believers... including my computer, my cellphone, my dvd player, my cd's. Because as you well know, those who are not in Jesus are children of disobedience and are pawns of satan (I'm not being sarcastic in this sentence).
I always thought Jesus defeated satan on the cross... hmmm I guess I was misinformed.
Oh and yes, lets not get angry... because we must never feel anything other than happiness when people backstab, lie, cheat and steal from us.
I can't remember seeing where anger was sin, hate yes, because when we hate our brother unjustly we commit murder in our heart.

I used to listen to slipknot along time ago. It's very agressive and angry. It seemed to have the same effect on my mind. When I became Christian and as I grew in my walk I knew in my heart that the Lord did not want me to have this in my house nor listen to it, I was convited to discard it.

I personally don't like Slipknot, mostly because I feel like they were yelling at me the few times I have listened to them.

I think the punishment was too harsh, and the only thing it is going to do is make the teenager want to listen to it more. This persons parents sound a lot like mine, they are always trying to see if my music is "evil" or not. I know all this condemning of music has not helped me at all to understand why they do this, but only made me want to "rebel" more, because I have yet to find it evil.

the band is not evil somtimes i think christians go a lil 2 far i mean with music and ppls sexuality i was talking to my friend and he said a group of christians took a gay boy and put him on a picked fince and let him lay there and die, and then at his funeral they we're out side with signs htat said god hates faggits. Im sorry but thats just sad i have nothing agains christians but i mean i think they should calm down.
