I don't see why not...how is it different than going on any other vacation getaway?

They do have Christian-based cruises, I am pretty sure...or least cruises that have Christian-type conventions on them. They be small and not on the most beautiful cruiseliner ever, but I'll bet they're fun.

Believe it or not, they even have "sober" cruises, for people who are recovering from alcholism.

It's worth a google search anyway!

Of course Christians can participate in cruises. They have shows and entertainment, and swimming and fitness activities. There are also cruises run by various ministries. Dr. Charles Stanley's ministry is organizing a cruise, to go www.intouch.org for more information. Other ministries offer cruises as well.

My daughter and all her in-laws went on a cruise last year. They are all Christians and they had a wonderful time together as a family.

Worldly is a term that is difficult to define.

Go on a cruise!!

I took an Alaskan cruise a while back and it was awesome. If you think they're too worldly, just go somewhere where God's creation is undeniable. God created such a beautiful world. Why not see it? Besides that, cruises are such a great way to meet interesting people. I recommend everything about a cruise except the price.

God bless

I just heard that the shows have half naked showgirls, the pools have half naked bikini girls, and there are alot of clubs/bars and drunk people partying. I was just wondering if there would be anything left for us to do if we exclude all of that. I can't afford a christian cruise. Carnival is the one we can afford and is supposed to be the most "fun". we have a deal with carnival.

Go for it Krysta.

But still be very wary, as some of these cruise ships are cess pools. I have heard a number of terrible stories from a number of friends. There are perverts and stalkers on some of the cruises, and more obvious on those very cheap cruises.

But, everyone else I know have been on great cruises, so make sure you get up top and near a row boat, just in case.

Enjoy your next cruise, wherever it may be.

Happy cruising.

PS: Your discernment will stand steadfast with you.

go on a cruise or not?,only if you can afford it......:D

seriously, depends if your christian morality is easily offended, most passengers will be there to relax, dring, swim, see the sights etc,you also can relax, drink, nothing wrong with the odd getting tipsy session,st paul never said dont drink just better to be filled with the holy spirit, full bikinis are available for swimming, see the sights/landscapes,nothing wrong with that neither - just remember to pack the sea sickness pills....;)

Christians are supposed to be in the world but not of it. That means go out there and be in it for crying out loud. Just because there are scantily clad women and gay people around doesn't mean you should do those things! Go and do! Keep your clothes on and be who you are. Don't restrict yourself from the good things God has in this world because other people misuse them.

Go!

Amen BrBob!
Yes there are Christian cruises, some are more affordable than others. Also, Disney Cruise Lines are geared for families but also have things like singles only pool areas. They have entertainment that is family focused as well. No gambling and restricted places and times for drinking, which can be really nice.
But if you really can't consider another cruise line, then I agree with BrBob, Jesus can't be killed by cocktails, or showgirls. Remember your heritage in Christ, behave in a way that tells others you respect them and love Him, and have a great time!

I really don't want my fiance' to stumble by all of the sexuality though.
If you are going on a cruise with your fiance, were you planning on separate cabins, or would this be a honeymoon cruise? If you are sleeping with your fiance before marriage, then you have a bigger problem.

this is for my HONEYMOON!
I think a cruise for a honeymoon is an extremely romantic adventure. Your "husband" will be able to enjoy you, and will probably not be that interested in the other women.

If you were to go to a seaside resort, there would be scantily clad bikini wearing women there as well.

I wish you the best in your marriage and beyond.

Hugs,
Trish

If it's your honeymoon, and you can't trust your husband to be around all the "sexuality" that will be on a cruise, you might want to postpone the wedding until after you've had some marriage counseling.

Your husband will be around just as much sexual temptation at work, at the mall, watching television, walking down the street even, as he would on a cruise. If you really think his head is going to be turned on your honeymoon, you have bigger issues.

You need to loosen the reins, and you should get used to that now rather than waiting until after you are married.

I never said I didn't trust him did I??? I said I didn't want him to get STUMBLED! I know God wants you to stay away from tempting/sinful situations. And I highly doubt that he will be around just as much sexual temptation at work. Will they in bikini's? showgirl outfits?? I don't think so....

Well, it's his responsibility to monitor himself and you should trust his ability to do so. He shouldn't need you there to put a blindfold on him everytime a gal in a tiny bikini walks by to prevent him from stumbling (and I guarantee you that's what all the girls will be wearing, even on a Disney cruise). Besides, with a new marraige and all, I highly doubt he'll be paying the least bit of attention to other women no matter what they're wearing. Just stay off the topless deck :p (last cruise I went on had one).

A cruise supposed to be FUN. There's no way your going to enjoy yourself if your going to be constantly stressed about what worldly things and temptations you might encounter in an unsheltered environment. Just relax and enjoy your husband and the new life you've just started :)

I've been on two cruises and I've absolutely loved them. The shows and entertainment onboard, the food, the service, and the excursions you can go on once you get to your destination are all just so fun ;)

I heard they're very worldy. would we have anything to do??
I believe that God created all of His creation to enjoy. I think that there is nothing wrong with doing just that. My question to myself would be this. Is there anyone who could better benefit from this money that I am about to spend. I believe that we need vacations for spiritual renewal and that couples must spend intimate time with one another, the same way that we must spend time with Him. So search your heart and see what God has for you. It sounds churchy, but it really is the basic truth behind everything.

Men don't need bikinis to be tempted, any more than women need Chippendales to be tempted. Plenty of men and women succumb to temptation without the outfits to instigate it.

You should go on the cruise, and enjoy your honeymoon. Enjoy being married, enjoy your new husband. Enjoy starting a life together. Learn to let go a little bit -- you're not going to be around him 100% of the time to stop him from stumbling over temptation. That's his job, and God's job.
