So if I state that I speak to spirits, but that those spirits are really only constructs of my mind - archetypes if you will- and that they arent actually literal spirits, then you would have no issue with my shamanic practices?

But that doesn't count. There are people that think skin color and income actually factors into how Christian a person is. What Christians think about other people being Christian or not Christian doesn't matter: it's what God thinks, and the last time someone who could honestly speak for Him was around, we nailed Him to a cross.

Which doesn't go against my definition of mysticism being between Theology and Philsophy.

However, your dictionary's definition also includes extremist fundigelical thought processes like those at Chick Publications and the Westboro Baptist Church. Neither of which are really mystical.
