Roof in Attic Leaking Rain

I woke up at around 5-6am this morning from a weird dream.

What is the dream significance of a roof leaking rainwater?

I seem to recall that an attic represents our mind.

The dream itself consisted of myself being in my attic. The attic had a white sink and it had other people in there - in real life it doesn't have a sink up there. It was raining and I was dismayed to see that various parts of my roof were leaking. I frantically went around using bowls and containers to catch the water and I took any that were full over to the sink to empty them. I had to do this by myself. Out of the people present one lady was angry that no one else helped me yet she didn't do anything as well.

Would appreciate any prayerful insight into this dream.

An attic can symbolize old or forgotten memories, history, insight into issues (possibly generational issues). The Lord may take you to the attic to show you something you'd forgotten about. It can also symbolize your mind, thoughts, attitude (good or bad), and be a place of learning.
What I’m seeing is that you will go through a time during which you will be brought to deal with some unpleasant issues.. During this time you will feel alone and abandoned. I understand this place very well & the anger that comes with it. The good thing is that as you work through the issues you will find cleansing & purging as symbolized by the sink. Ask the Lord to show you the reward and outcome for going through this time to give you hope as you endure it.. perhaps He will give you another dream to show you the end result. God bless you as you endure.

another view ... this is what popped into my head ...

my stepmother once told me that Christ is the top authority
the man is the umbrella
and the wife is under them both
if the husband isn't doing his job he's letting all kind of things rain through

... not sure where Christ fits in this scenario ... as in the attic ... or would the husband be the attic ...

anyway ... it's just what came to mind ...

In dreams, water is either the Holy Spirit or our emotions. The roof is your covering/protection, and the attic is representative of your mind or thoughts.

The water leaking through your covering shows that your emotional thought life has become so overwhelming that it is now revealing the "long term" spots of damaged roof (covering/protection)....and when we have water leaks into our attics/minds, it causes damage to important contents (opinions/judgments we have made/mind sets of the past and present/personal treasures in the form of memories, and so forth).

You are doing your best to prevent this emotional damage from occurring, hence the sink. The sink is the "proper way/proper outlet" to deal with these kinds of things (until a permanent resolution is found=roofer to repair it, and bring leaks to an end ). You currently need help in getting the emotions (water) to the proper outlet (sink) so you can properly deal with your thoughts and emotions, and you are not receiving that help right now....as you said "I had to do this by myself."

Also you have a lady who is not helping either, yet she "appears" to be emotionally protective of you because she is angry that the others aren't helping you. Take a look back at what she looked like or what she was wearing and see who she may represent in your waking life. I would not be surprised if there is someone who has given you the impression that they care, but they don't care enough to pitch in and "really" help you.

My prayers have already gone out for you and your husband. May God cover you with His wings, and the Holy Spirit be to you an everlasting comforter and help. Amen.

I believe the lady represents my mother though she was actually a singer who was on a programme I was watching just before falling to sleep, so the show was still fresh on my mind. The singer was in a 1990's girl band and she had been hurt when other band members left the group without telling her what happened. They'd reconciled on the show and she'd been crying but had managed to forgive the other members. My mother says all the right things in terms of what I'm currently dealing with (and expresses her anger at other family members who can't help) but does nothing to alleviate my environment (so that I can get things done) even occasionally.

Saturday night until 3am, I stayed up playing worship videos on Youtube and I felt I was able to lay all of this at the feet of the cross. The song "Above All" was the release I mentally needed. It was as though it was hammered home that although I do feel very alone in terms of this current 'wilderness' moment I'm actually not because my Lord is with me every step of the way. So I'm to turn my focus away from seeking people for help and I need to carry everything to Him.

Isn't God just plain wonderful!

I've witnessed a release this morning and Ex 14:14 was tweeted to my account which summarised how I felt as I woke up earlier. Again a blessed reassurance and reinforcement of who I need to turn to:

14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
