God made the Gospel so simple that a 5 year old child can grasp it, without the help of councils, popes and magesteriums, who think they are the only one's who hold the key to it's complexity.

then why cant you and the 20 Christians down the street agree on the faith, even on soteriology?

The Elect do.

My Elect brothers and sisters and myself are in complete agreement on the Gospel and the essential doctrines of the faith.

Why is the SSPX is schism now?

Running with the implications.

For each X, where X is a member of the set of the Elect, X is in complete agreement with Augustine_Was_Calvinist on the Gospel and the essential doctrines of the faith.

Thousands sound like a large number until we compare it to what it is a part of . . .

But its really thousands out of BILLIONS . . .

. . . . . . . . only thousands?

That's like saying pennies out of tens of thousands.

Just a little perspective . . . .

:)

Peace

And now a word from our sponsors, to provide some real perspective and context.

The dear lady's context of knowing thousands, were those known personally.

Out of billions, knowing thousands is totally rational.

Thinking one would know a greater number out of billions in what they are in agreement on is not rational, IMHO.

I just want to know one thing...did they quote him correctly or not?

That's a good question. I don't think you'll get an answer, tho, as it's much easier to cry "Anti-Catholic"!

Such is life here in CF. So many reports, so little response.

If one is not in agreement, then they are clearly not of the Elect.

What do you think?

I don't know. I don't use that terminology.

Augustine_Was_Calvinist said:
Or rather, what does Hans Kung think?

He doesn't use that terminology either.

Augustine_Was_Calvinist said:
But then again, Kung may think that Pelagius was Christian.

Could be.

Dialectic tactic, demonize.

Set up the strawman of "anti-Catholic" and try to make the opponent defend a false accusation.

Hillary and the left are very good at it. Some have been taking notes.

It has been said, anti-Catholicism is the last acceptable prejudice in America . . .

ROTFL! Let me pick myself up here, brush off my clothes. There are far too many prejudices in America. Some of them like to use jerseys as a marker.

What's also odd, is that they are usually the ones who claim they are the most "tolerant" * of all groups.

*disclaimer: as long as you are in agreement with them.

Peace :)

I believe you have something there.

Yatahay!
Fom the Navajo "Ya’ah’tee", which roughly translated means, "It is good".

It is good, the Lord is good, praise His name!

I find the accusation 'anti-Catholic' a sly mode of censure, since it is most certainly not true. I make no bones about finding the ideology called Catholicism unacceptable, yet I am NEVER against the people who practice it.
