The translations of this verse all say basically the same thing. I think this verse demonstrates that God views marriage as being between a man and a woman. I don't think the verse goes as far as to say that the opposite is true. I personally don't think God is pleased with a marriage between two people of the same sex, but I wouldn't say that they have found "evil".

actually i think all this verse is saying is that married people have kids.

Good point. Marriage is also for procreation...which is only possible when there is a man and a woman.

Ok, that is your opinion - But I am in vehement disagreement with that statement.

I can fully understand that with regard to people who cannot accept the 6 day Creation, the Flood, the parting of the Red Sea, the virgin birth, etc... And that is why it is so hard for such to Accept CHRIST as GOD...

But that would seem to be your problem and not my problem.

If a literal reading is the only way (as your post implies), why did Christ so seldom of ever speak literally in His teachings? Aphorisms and parables are a far cry from literal and are wide open to differing interpretations.

Has a man who finds a good dog found evil and disfavor with the Lord?

Say yes at your peril, my wife is less forgiving than I about anyone who insults the dogs.

Is a man who does not take a wife in disfavor with the Lord? That works just as well from the verse and from other scripture we know that is garbage.

Finally do the warnings in Revelation (singular, not plural) apply only to that book or all of Scripture? If the God of the Bible is real it just might be a rather important question question for more than a few Christians.

If the man beds with one ----- yes! No reflection on your wife of course.

Historical is literal. Metaphorical makes for excuses and provide profits for sibyls...

Historical and literal are quite different in that with historical, you take into context the time/era and customs which then transform (in most cases) how you interpret what was written.

Literal is when you read each word and accept it as written without question or heed of accuracy.

HE didn't want to cast pearls before swine, and yet HE always provided an explanation for HIS disciples benefit. The simple fact is that a parable might be just a made up tale which provides a lesson; however, there is nothing to say that CHRIST was not providing parables from life events that HE would fully be aware of... They could be true stories....

The Bible says: He who finds a WIFE finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.

Does that mean the the alternative is the opposite? I would say so...

HE who finds a MALE MATE finds what is evil and receives disfavor from the LORD.
No, I don't believe that is what is said at all. I believe that is inserting something into The Bible that is not there.

In any case, you are free to believe and interpret your own meaning. If it strengthens your faith and brings you closer to God, more power to you.

No, that is not necessarily logical.

If I say it's good to drink water, I'm not necessarily implying that if you drink anything else, it's bad. I'm just saying that water is good, which may simply just be a subset of good drinks.

I think the most basic interpretation is comparing finding a wife to not finding a wife.

Besides, it's only Solomon's (or whoever wrote it) opinion. If you're looking for remarks against homosexuals, I'm sure you know you could just turn to Leviticus.

One could question every word in the Bible that way. What do you want it to say?
Indeed. So here we go.

Presuming that you are referencing Proverbs 18:22 there is no mention at all in that proverb about homosexuality, to find one you must read it into the text which is hardly befitting of a literal interpenetration.

Given that the bible clearly states that homosexuality is an abomination for which people should be executed why do you feel the need to heap on other condemnations that are not there?
