Hi everyone. I have a broken rosary that has been previously blessed. How do I properly dispose of it?

Properly Disposing of Broken Blessed Rosaries

Why not just have it repaired (assuming you have all the parts)? I had one break once. I took it to a local jewelry store. They repaired it . . . for free.

What should a person do who lives in an apartment and doesn't have "earth" of his own? Should I bury it in a dark corner of a public park somewhere? Ask the priest permission to bury it on parish property? Bury it in a neighbor's back yard when he isn't looking?

First I would find someone who can repair broken rosaries, if all else fails and its unrepairable, a proper burial is in order.
Though I dont own a rosary and unsure where they have them.

The park doesn't sound like a bad idea, as long it is in a spot where there isn't a lot of traffic.
If your Pastor allows it, I don't see any problem of burying it within the Parish grounds in a place where the flowers are growing, or in a back corner of small plot.
PErsonally, I've kept my broken Rosaries. No special reason. I've just kept them.

As only a Christian, if I had a rosary that was blessed, I would keep it with me until I died, and have it in my hands as I was buried.

Take it to your parish priest, he will dispose of it for you if you ask him.
Also though, I repair rosaries and people are always giving me their old rosaries that have broken, because I will reuse the beads for other rosaries and sometimes I can mix them and get creative that way. You might just have some one at your parish who does the same thing who would gladly take it off your hands and take care of it for you, if they can't use the beads, they will know what to do with it.

I know which one I want buried with.
Definitely would be nice to bury it beneath the icon of Mary in the Church yard...ya think? If possible and the priest permits it.

Two questions, both related:
1. Can a person use rosary that has not been blessed?
2. If you have one rosary that is blessed, but broken, and all you have is the rosary that is not blessed, can the rosary that is not blessed be used until the other is fixed, or until the rosary not blessed is finally blessed?
