My stepmom had a "tubes tied" but apparently they did not do a good job, and they didn't ASK HER!! So she tried to get pregnant again and ended up with 3 tubal pregnancies each ending in surgery. If you are afraid of getting pregnant after getting your tubes tied, it won't happen. If anything you are more likely to have an eptopic pregnancy... which can kill you.... :(

I had periods that appeared normal with both pregnancies. I had my tubes "tied" about 10 years ago.

Are you asking if anyone has had a pregnancy following sterilization with no reversal or if they have had a successful pregnancy after a reversal? The failure rate of tubal sterilization is less than 2% Success rates of reversals vary greatly depending on a lot of factors but I think it's between 20 and 70% (with that high of a difference you'd have to look at the specifics of individual situations to determine success rates)

I deal with a lot of women who are going through miscarriage scares. We've seen several women now get pregnant after having their tubes tied (and not having had a reversal). I am trying to think back and I am pretty sure a couple ended up being ectopic and one just didn't make it.

go to this site:
www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com and click on 'Our Stories'. Those are all the misdiagnosed miscarriages You can either skim the titles of the posts or do a search to find the threads.

Some women do bleed while pregnant. It is actually something like a quarter to a third of all women. It really isn't a period and there are various reasons for the bleeding. I bled heavily throughout the second trimester with my son and spotted the rest of the trimester. Bleeding doesn't always mean a miscarriage.

If I can help you in any way figure out what is happening, send me a PM. I get dozens of emails a week (and sometimes a lot more) looking for information and support.

They didn't ask her??? They just went ahead and tied her tubes without her consent?? That's completely sick, did she do anything about it?

It is a little confusing, it was 13 years ago, when she had a cesarian with my sister.... she vaguely remembers the doctor saying something about her not wanting anymore kids, which wasn't true... and she didn't know they had done it until later after the tubal pregnancies...

That's so bizarre.. getting my tubes "tied" was a pain in the neck.. I had to wait for 30 days after asking for one (not because of the wait for a date or hospital room.. just because you have to wait 30 days in case you change your mind) I had to sign a ridiculous number of forms stating I knew it should be considered permanent and that my insurance did not cover reversal surgery. I had to take a several hour long "class" with other women getting a tubal about it. This was all after I had an obnoxious doctor spend most of an hour telling me I shouldn't have one.

I would hope she sued or at least filed a complaint against the doctor who illegally performed sterilization on her without consent!

My older cousin had a tubal pregnancy(my mom had me later in life). My cousin is now 24 yrs old...with children of her own...and she was born very healthy. My older cousin just figured that the Lord really wanted her to have this child..so she named her destiny...cause she said she was destin to be born. As above though hubby and I know someone right now that is trying to get pregnant(tubes untied) and she keeps getting tubals and then having to have surgery..so it also can be risky.
