Do you think singing worship songs is spiritual warfare?
Not if the focus of the song is me. That is why I dislike gospel music. Oh How I Love Jesus is not about Jesus but me. And my love for Him, though it is bursting from my heart, isn’t sufficient to even speak of. Hymns, several praise songs and Psalms are good.
Are they spiritual warfare? They could be but I think spiritual warfare is more learning of Him and what He did and increasing faith in Him. The more you learn of Him the more you rest in Him. The more you rest in Him the more free you are to serve Him. Walking by faith is looking to Him for all; all your righteousness, all your holiness, all your acceptance with God, all your peace, all your assurance, all your blessings from God. He is enough for God and enough for the wretched sinner.
He is the focus of the Scriptures and ought to be the focus of our worship and life.
Colossians 1:15-18 (KJV) 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.
