I used to do at-home transcription work for Productive Playhouse. It’s been about a year since I’ve done it, so idk if they’re looking for help, but if it piques your interest, send me a PM.
I have no issue with providing funding for people who are required to be quarantined. If you are then I have no problem with providing their wages due to public safety reasons.
I don't think employers who have no sick leave payments should be required to have them.
We shouldn't be paying for loss of wages for any other reason.
Given that coronavirus kits are still not available to the general public through no fault of their own, just how does one go about proving that they or a member of their family has contacted this virus?"workers could use the 14 emergency sick days if their workplace or their child’s school is closed"

I think that's the sticky part. If no one is sick, you shouldn't be on sick leave.
Do you have PMs turned off? I cannot find the start conversation tab in your profile.
I'm sorry, but though you might see it this way and even act this way, most people just look at the price and the quality of the food and pay little mind to the health of the staff. When I go out to eat, I’d have no problem paying a few dollars more to know that if the chef feels a cold coming on that day they just stay home rather than come in because they need the paycheck to make rent and end up sneezing in my risotto. I think very little of the intelligence of anyone who disagrees with me on this point.
LOL.No this is an employees market not an employers one. With low unemployment comes a shortage of workers. Right now workers have the power not the employers.
The caps are a thing of the past because of Obamacare. Now it is the deductibles and surprise billings that get you.I mean long term health conditions, what does a person in the US with a long term health condition do to get treatment? Insurance policies have caps, medical treatment is expensive - what are the options?

Apparently young people do not react as seriously to coronavirus, but even if they appear relatively healthy shouldn't they remain home as long as they are a carrier because they can still infect others?

I get the impression that the US is one of the most industrially backward nations in the developed Western world.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) blocked an attempt by Senate Democrats to quickly pass legislation on Wednesday that would require employers to provide paid sick leave.
The issue of paid sick leave has jumped into the spotlight amid growing concerns about a coronavirus outbreak within the United States. Individuals exposed to the virus are being recommended to quarantine for at least two weeks.
Sen. Patty Murray's (D-Wash.) legislation would require employers give workers 14 days of paid sick leave during public health emergencies. She tried to get unanimous consent on the legislation on Wednesday, which would have it bypass a vote, but Alexander said he could not support the bill.
Note to our foreign friends -- there is no federal requirement for paid sick leave in the US. Go be sick on your own time.
