On the Changing Role of the Pope

Like I just mentioned in another thread, it's telling how popular Pope Francis is among non-Christians. And the typical Roman Catholic liturgy is just a mess of modernist nonsense. That's what drove me away toward Holy Orthodoxy.

He a favorite among Muslims, and Atheists, he seem to be rattling the nerves of a lot of Catholics, this has got to make Catholics ask a few hard questions, do they go full on Sedevacantist(basically schism), or to finally swim the Mediterranean, and convert to Orthodoxy. I can't imagine many wanting to go Protestant. I love well meaning Christians in the West, who do believe in Apostolic tradition, the patristics, fasting, the sacraments, etc. however one must ask a honest, disturbing question, is Christianity in the West dead?

Please do not abuse the hospitality of my brothers and sisters here. We are in the Great Fast now and are trying very hard to prepare , as I would hope you are also doing , for that greatest of all Feasts - the Resurrection of Our Lord God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Regarding the current Roman Catholic pope, I know there is plenty to criticise, but he does seem more Orthodox in some ways:
- wants married priests under certain circumstances
- wants those who are remarried to be able to commune under certain circumstances
- wants more collegiality amongst bishops

These have all been criticised by trad Roman Catholics, so I think we are not always in sync with the trads, though clearly much more than the liberals.

which is the great irony. these are actually the more traditional positions, so it's that trads that are actually the more liberal.
