I don't have an NRSV, but in high school we had to use the Catholic Youth Bible. I think it was a NAB, but it used gender-neutral language. "Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of people."

I don't know if it changes the meaning in this instance, but it sounds dreadfully awkward and I found the overt attempts at "inclusiveness" very distracting. Although one could argue for that passage about something to do with calling only men to the priesthood...
But it any case, it's not a true translation if we inject our PC-ness into it. Reminds me of the verse in Revelation forbiding us to change any part of the prophecy. If it's ok to do it for gender, why wouldn't it be ok to "correct" other "non-inclusive" passages? Scripture is not politically correct. "Neither fornicators, adulterers, practicing homosexuals... shall inherit the kingdom of God" is about as non-inclusive as it gets. Get over it.
