not sure what to expect

well, hello there everyone.
My name is Mike, I'm 40yrs old from Minnesota and plan on going to bible college and seminary in the near future. as of now i am completely self-taught aside from my childhood spent in church, Sunday school, church school etc. Although I'm not new to my walk of faith, I am new to an Online Forum of any sorts, so I'm not sure what to expect by being here. however, I am Excited to share with a community of many other believers from all walks of faith. my particular area of interest includes apologetics, and defense of the gospel. truth be told i just love coming up with good sermons and sharing the word of God, but one of my far favorite pastimes is a good debate with an unbeliever or someone who considers themselves a believer but whose doctrines are not sound.

You'll definitely find debate here! Everyone's pretty nice here in the Christian Debate sections. It's topic only, no intentional rudeness or anything like you'll find on more secular forums.
I don't go into the Debate sections w/ non Christians. I've just encountered too much Militiant Atheism on more secular forums, I just don't want to deal w/ that. (Militiant Atheism believes all religion causes violence
& oppression & so Christians & other religious should for all intents & purposes be ridiculed & mocked & be paid back for the violence & oppression 'Christians' have caused) I can't deal with that, it's just completely irrational & very rude.

I think it's amazing you're going in seminary! We'll be interested in seeing how God uses you, & already has it sounds like!

Enjoy you stay here. There are a lot of discussions between believers of every sort and color.
Take care debating with unbelievers. Most of them are here for two purposes, to stroke their ego at your expense and to dissuade you from your faith. It will not take long for you to tell who is who. Most I just put on ignore. Especially if they start getting condescending and and belittling you. I suspect it is sort of a hobby with them. Also realize they will goad you into doing the same, and then report you. Seen it happen. Help the seeker, brush the dust off your feet with those who attack you and the Lord. Those who blaspheme and push abominations... goodbye.
