I don’t always get my Catholic news from Ben Shapiro but when I do, it’s this one. Ben Shapiro read the book and saw the movie so he’s got this one down.

It’s from Hollywood and that’s all most of you needed to know. But this one has a heckuva’ cast. Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci among others. It looks expensive.

So this movie is about a conclave where the next pope will be chosen. Of course there’s intrigue and conspiracies and plots. But guess who the baddies are. Just guess. Yup. How’d you know? It’s the faithful Catholics who want the faith handed down from Christ to resemble the faith handed down by Christ. The good guys are those who want to change everything. In short, this is the anti-Malachi Martin movie.

And you’ll never guess how it ends. Yup. They elect a female pope. I’m not kidding. Ben Shapiro will tell you all about it if you’re interested in the details. But this is anti-Catholic Oscar bait. Avoid it.

I place it in a Handmaids Tale category only less successful in sales. Because people would rather see every day “-“ people being exploited by Christians and not those same “-“‘s being exploited by people who look like centuries old religious figures. Not the visual that will keep them interested.

God bless Ben, and I mean that, I respect him, but the audience he is preaching to about anti Catholic movies. Well THAT audience knows exactly what to look out for. We hope it fails in theatres so that the fertile young Catholics who can be easily swayed get a hold of it but they won’t. Too boring for them

In this day and age, I’m not so sure. The Handmaid’s Tale is a yellow tale like a dime store novel imo. It’s titillating, sure. But there are many that have it out for the Catholic Church these days. I’m sure this was inspired by the myth of Pope Joan. Hollywood will give it a heavy dose of the wokeness it feels it needs to get their message across.
