She suggests putting all the ethics reports out there.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Suggests Releasing All Ethics Reports, Not Just Gaetz's: "If We're Going to Dance, Let's All Dance In The Sunlight'

heres my hot take;
She suggests it should only happen if they release Gaetz report.
Why would any American citizen NOT want to be able to read up about ethics violations from any of their elected officials??
They shouldn't be hidden at all.
And before you "what about you guys" I am 1000% on board with doing this across parties. Equal treatment I say.

My curious question;
Are you interested in the reports about opposing party members, your own party members, or both?

well ... ethic reports are based on allegations ... historically they have not been released ... there needs to be consistency ... so I would agree with Ms. Greene on this one. Either they ALL become available or not.

Allegations can be lend themselves to be true or false .... the ethics committee is not a court of law.

The Committee on Ethics is unique in the House of Representatives. Consistent with the duty to carry out its advisory and enforcement responsibilities in an impartial manner ....

The only way to be truly "impartial" at this point .... would be to release them all or not at all (so I agree with Ms.Greene and the speaker)

If the ethic committee takes official action ... it is then the reports should be released IMO ... because people will "gossip" about them ... and again they are allegations.

They should review their process and decide if they want to amend it ... make them all public or not going forward .... but to demand just Gaetz report is to be released and not others is NOT being impartial.

Nice.
Thanks for that information.
I still think there's no harm in releasing all investigations though, clearly delineating the status of the investigation....

That said, considering this particular report involves a CANDIDATE for ATTORNEY GENERAL, I think it's fair to say there is more gravitas for this one document then for, say, a junior staffer throwing a tomato at a chief of staff.

Certainly you can be accepted.

Equal treatment .... "this one document" is not equal treatment.

Again, you can accept that Gaetz's situation is unique even though I agree with your "equal treatment" stance.

You can't have it both ways .... at this point in time (unfair to do so) ... like I said ... perhaps they should review their current process ... and if in the future they could all be made public ... or not. You can't pick and choose what reports can or can not be released ... that's nonsense and totally unfair don't care what office is involved.

I'm not asking about releasing the reports.
I am not even IMPLYING ANYTHING other than JUST what my question asks.

Are you able to recognize that Gaetz's situation is unique compared to other ethics probes?
