We were slaves to sin, but Christ set us free; now we are being sanctified by God not ourselves.Reborn people aren't immune from it either- even though they should be more immune, at least. People have a tendency to fool themselves, for that matter.
Anyway, God places demands upon believers, and that's not a bad thing at all. The new covenant did not take that away.
Alright, this must mean that your overcoming sin and producing good fruit quite well, then, especially if you think righteounss is something you're now compelled to do, and unrighteousness impossible for you. "You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness."
Are you keeping the whole law? If not, you are a law breaker and you need a Savior.Alright, this must mean that your overcoming sin and producing good fruit quite well, then, especially if you think righteounss is something you're now compelled to do, and unrighteousness impossible for you. "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." Heb 12:14
"To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life." Rom 2:7
"Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God." Rom 8:12
We're not under the law-we don't go by the law or even need to hear the law let alone try to prove some non-existent righteousness by obedience of the law. Our righteousness comes from God, alone, at justifaction-pure grace-and we must walk in that! If you understand the gospel, it does not not remove your obligation to be righteous. The alternative to that means we could sin wantonly, egregiously, and still expect to enter heaven, which is not only absurd, but unbibilcial. Are you keeping the whole law? If not, you are a law breaker and you need a Savior.
Just keep ticlkin' yer ears with the parts you prefer to hear-and ignore the full the gospel truth. Seems like you need to grow some in the knowledge referred to in vs 9.Ephesians 1
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5he predestined us for adoption to sonship c through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9he d made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
I am a slave to righteouness; my righteousness comes from Christ Who saved me. Your judgments don't trump truth. You ignore Ephesians 1 and 2.Just keep ticlkin' yer ears with the parts you prefer to hear-and ignore the full the gospel truth. Seems like you need to grow some in the knowledge referred to in vs 9.
If you're a slave to righteousness then you're free from the slavery of sin that results in death-but that's a freedom you say is not possible.I am a slave to righteouness; my righteousness comes from Christ Who saved me. Christ forgives sin; He died to save me.
I take the whole bible into account, understanding parts such as Eph 1 and 2 in light of that- and I don't discount the historic understanding of the churches either.Your judgments don't trump truth. You ignore Ephesians 1 and 2.
Quote me.If you're a slave to righteousness then you're free from the slavery of sin that results in death-but that's a freedom you say is not possible.
Ok-I just did..sorry.Quote me.
Right, and God, alone, knows for certain just who they are. Those Christ died for and with His Own Blood obtained Eternal Redemption, because of the efficasiousness of His Blood, they can never come under the penalty of sin, nor the law and satans dominion !
We are righteous by the imputed righteousness of Christ. We are being sanctified right now.Ok-I just did..sorry.
Alright, so my apologies also if I've read you wrong on that part. There are many variations on the theme out there. I now think...you believe that the regenerated still sin but are being sanctified and will one day be made perfect in sanctity-even if that's only completed after death? And, you believe this to be guaranteed, and that a person can know with 100% certainty that they're regenerated/among the elect and know that they will persevere and not fail to become fully sanctified. But they sin even though they're slaves to righteousness? Maybe they're slaves to both? But they can never return to the flesh seriously or permanently enough to destroy thier relationship with God?
We are no longer slaves to sin because we belong to Christ. Sin is disgusting.Ok-I just did..sorry.

Ok, so forgive me if I'm struggling a bit here. You're a slave to righteousness and sin is disgusting to you while it's understood that sanctification is a process-progressive- meaning that you still sin? Or you don't sin-you're perfectly sinless? Or you sin but it's not counted against you because Christ's righteousness is imputed to you?We are no longer slaves to sin because we belong to Christ. Sin is disgusting.
"You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ."
Romans 8:9
