U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts issued a rare public statement Tuesday in an apparent rebuke of President Donald Trump, who has called for the impeachment of a federal district judge after he attempted to block the deportation of Venezuelan gang members in the U.S. illegally.

"For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose," Roberts said.

Roberts' scolding came shortly after Trump unleashed a statement on Truth Social blasting Judge James E. Boasberg, who has served as chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia since 2023.

It's good to see a Republican stand up to Trump.
To be fair, I consider John Roberts more of a "Bushy" neocon and although he is a good man and also probably a fair man, John Roberts political beliefs are not all the same as America First constitutional conservatives.

To be fair, I consider John Roberts more of a "Bushy" neocon and although he is a good man and also probably a fair man, John Roberts political beliefs are not all the same as America First constitutional conservatives.
I wish the "Constitutional" part fit better in title. Most don't embrace the Constitution any better than Liberals. Roberts is no doubt a Conservative but also an honorable man. He is considered a moderate but leans further right than the Catholic Church.

Seems more a matter of obstructing rather than just disagreeing. Justice Roberts just disagreed with the President for example, and I doubt Trump or anyone else is saying he should be reprimanded or impeached for it.

If a person thinks that disagreements ar grounds for impeachment then that person has no business anywhere near government.
