Pastor John MacArthur says the response by Vice President Kamala Harris to the phrase “Jesus is Lord” at a recent campaign rally is all Christians need to know about who to vote for in November.

The 85-year-old MacArthur shared his thoughts during an on-stage conversation at Grace Community Church Sunday night with Jim Pfaff, president of The Conservative Caucus, who asked MacArthur to help “shepherd our hearts” ahead of Election Day.

After taking a jab at Harris for her “this is the most election ever” comment last year, MacArthur pointed to her response to a pair of protesters at the Harris-Walz rally at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse last week when they shouted phrases like “Christ is King!” as Harris spoke about abortion rights.

I seriously doubt Jesus attended anyone's political rallies.

And the Holy Spirit abiding within the Christians there was dragged to them not by choice.

This is what many Christians are doing with Christianity. These college students who attended the political rally and chanted "Jesus is the Lord" did not go there to praise God or spread the gospel. They went there to make a political statement. They used the Son of God to create a political sensation.

These are young individuals who probably do not fully understand the implications of their actions. It is surprising that many Christians have used this incident to make political points. In the Old Testament, taking the Lord's name in vain was punishable by death. Thankfully, we no longer live in those times. Jesus was not glorified by this incident, some Christian used Jesus’ name to make a political statement.
