Jesus greased with perfumed oil on his feet or his head?

Greased??? What are you reading, the International Biker's Bible Version?

:D

Anointed, whatever, doesn't matter what translation I use as it doesn't change the question, and if it doesn't change the question, then it's irrelevant...

I happen to use multiple different translations and read and compare them side by side, but as I said irrelevant information to answering the question, and you made no attempt to answer the question...

I'm probably splitting hairs here...

But in one account it says Jesus head was greased with the perfumed oil (Matthew 26:7), another his feet (Luke 7:46, John 12:3), which is correct?

God Bless!

In Matthew 26:12, Jesus says that she poured it on his body. So, was it head, feet, or body?

Of course, it could be two different encounters. Note that after the pouring in Matthew, the disciples get indignant and Jesus talks about his burial. After the pouring in Luke, the Pharisees ask a question and then Jesus tells a story about a moneylender.

interesting question
and while the question is not changed ,the manner in which it is presented changes the tone of reverence (or lack thereof ) with which it is asked .

what do you think the answer to this apparent contradiction is ?

Thank You for that, that's very useful, I didn't consider Matthew 26:12 that's very useful info... What part(s) of his body was he talking about?

And the added info on two encounters, very insightful, and opens up possibilities...

Thank You!

God Bless!

I think we have writers, that were trying to write about an event, many years after it happened, and to them, it happened just the way they remember it...?

Ten people witness the same event(s), years later they are asked to document those experiences, but what they will remember and how they tell it will differ in some areas, I think that's what we have here, and why we four different Gospel accounts.

Individually we human beings are limited in scope, we see truth in a three-dimensional space, but from one reference point, one angle, we are all looking at truth from a limited perspective angle, each individually, and this colors our perceptions, and custom tailors the way remember things and the way we tell a story

God Bless!

all four accounts of this describe the same setting .. a house ,a meal ,reclining at a table and a woman pouring expensive perfume..
3 say its' at bethany
2 state whom it is that poured the oil
it is the lord Jesus that says ..she poured it on my "body" (much as we would say that water splashed on "ME" even if it only splashed on our arm ) the other accounts clearly state what part of the body..the feet .
oil is poured on the head in anointing .. but this was perfume in preparation of burial .

my summary - it was poured on his body "specifically being his feet" - the process took some time as she wiped away the excess of the perfume and her tears with her hair ..over this "time" the lord possible spoke of more things then only the recorded comments regarding the poor and his burial .

They are all correct by definition. Remember that the Gospels are not a daily diary. The events you mention must have happened on different days/occasions.
