You don’t know he fetishizes Indian women. If someone marries a black person is it a fetish? I was really surprised by your comments concerning his sexual proclivities because he met a woman in college that happens to be Indian and *gasp* married her! Yeah… it has to be his kink.
Mich:

Don't twist my words, you've got ammo enough with my straight-up quotes.

And don't pretend to suddenly be offended.

I don't care if he wants to marry an Indian woman, or if someone wants to marry anyone outside their race, religion or whatever.

My problem is specifically with the way Vance treats his wife.

Which is like something he stepped in, rather than someone he actually, you know, loves.

It's the way people treat other people when they hate what they are doing.

It's weird.

That's all I'm saying.

I'm just raising the question.

Interesting

Black slaves were sexually assaulted by their white male “owners.”
You don't have to put owners in quotes

They were actually the owners of slaves.
Was that a fetish?
Possibly.

But, probably, it was about power and, frankly, making more slaves for free. (Slaves were insanely expensive in the American South)

There were probably a lot of reasons.
Or in the gay community, where some white men fetishize black men but discriminate against Asian men.
Also wrong.

I’m not twisting your words and I’m not suddenly offended. I’m surprised. She an accomplished intelligent woman. She seems to be doing just fine and they seem very happy. It’s not nice to project you biases on their relationship because that is exactly what you are doing.

Their marriage seems just fine.

I was really surprised to discover yesterday that there are some 'white supremicist' types who also have been attacking their marriage:

JD Vance acknowledges white supremacist attacks against wife Usha

Vice presidential hopeful Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) acknowledged the white supremacist attacks against his wife, Usha Vance, who is a child of Indian immigrants.

“Look, I love my wife so much. I love her because she’s who she is,” he told host Megyn Kelly on her show Friday. “Obviously, she’s not a white person, and we’ve been accused, attacked by some white supremacists over that. But I just, I love Usha.”

Usha Vance has faced a slew of far-right attacks targeting her Indian heritage following her husband’s nomination to the Republican ticket.

“Who is this guy, really? Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?” prominent white supremacist Nick Fuentes said of Vance after former President Trump announced his running mate.

Riles:

I know ALL KINDS of biracial couples who love each other.

Good Lord, I had to bury the husband of a biracial couple I've known for 30 years last summer and his widow is in therapy trying to recover.

Ever see pictures of Richard and Mildred Loving ? (If you don't know who they are, go back to your high school and demand a refund)

Those two were never more than 10 feet from each other when they were in the same place, and you can just see the real love between them.

....and then we have this snapped together creation of the Billionaire Tech Bros who doesn't even seem to want to claim parenthood of his own children.

.....and can't seem to interact with actual humans in any way that seems remotely natural.

What am I supposed to think ? I have eyes. I have wits.
I don’t know. I’m not a mind reader so I’m not going to make any claims, I guess?

Take care

I realize you weren't talking to me but..

Yes. Reason: This was actually traced back to the person who started this vile and asinine rumor, and SHE says she lied.

There's actually a Wikipedia page on this hoax

That fact that you still defend this say boxcar loads about your character.

Because he's a fascist pig who has some kind of fetish for Indian women ?

Ever notice how he never actually says "our children" when talking about his kids, it's always "her children". And his racial views are just to the left of a 1830's slave owner. This relationship is based on some kind of weird underlying sexual obsession, I promise you.

And the eyeliner ? And that haircut ?

Yeah, there's some REAL heteronormal behavior there.......

Maybe it's the warrior in me Fide, but at this point, if it keeps American free for my children and grandchildren, I risk the hit.

Hey, Fide, none of my business but maybe you should read some of your comments on this thread.....
Anyone can write anything on Wikipedia, it is a huge mistake to rely on Wiki for anything where there is disagreement. Overall it is very much controlled by the left.

It has citations.

That means it is based on other research

Which itself is cited.

Get serious, learn how to judge properly cited material from stuff people just pull out of their Facebook streams.

I guess this means you are a Progressive/ Democrat. Oh. May I ask when this happened to you? Can you identify the time of life when you disbelieved that Truth exists?

See now, you just want to be nasty.

You should really take a hint from me and Riles.

We go a couple of rounds, give each other something to think about, and part friends.

Now,

I know, I know, I knooowwww,......

I upset people around here. (Not really my intent)

But is all this hostility REALLY necessary ?

I mean, I COULD just attack you back (I'm quite capable of it) but then.....

I'd get reported, then I'd have to have a conversation with a moderator, and that NEVER goes well.

So.......

Let's Dance !

It'll clear your mind and make your body feel better, I promise.

Serious, Fide, just turn on your speakers or put in your earbuds, turn the volume up to 11 and just let it go,

Iike no one is watching.

I'll even dance with you (ruined knee and bad hips and everything)

Oh YEAH !!!

Now, don't you feel better about the situation ? I know I do.

You'll excuse me, but it's past 4 PM where I live and I need a cocktail.

Till next time.

No, if I wanted to be "nasty" I'd ignore you and move on. I'm serious about truth - Truth. I think it was Thomas Aquinas who clarified that the First Truth is that Truth IS. So-called "Progressives" share the despair of not even knowing for certain that everything they think they see and feel and hear might just exist only in their heads - mere phantoms of the mind - ideas - fleeting sparks in their brains (if "brains even exist...." How could they or anyone (if anyone does exist really) even know the difference? Maybe every "thing" is merely my idea about it. SO - wisdom is just eat/drink/be merry for tomorrow.... Hence they lie, denying all Truth even its existence too easily - what a horror.

You seem to be in that darkness. My guess is that it started in adolescence. I hope you can seek - even if it seems to be a great risk to dare to hope for something "unprovable"! Cynicism is a protection against the total despair of seeking, only to find an empty cold void. The promise stands, nevertheless:
Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Mat 7:8 For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Mat 7:9 Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

You wrote this:
Then he shouldn’t believe everything he hears. And he needs to fact check. Because it made him and Trump look like liars at best or stupid liars at worst. And you all are fixating on the pets thing when he’s lied about other things.

I 'all' am not fixating on the pet thing.
It is you that is.

But the pet thing proved to be a very good thing for Springfield.
Because of the national attention, Springfield got help.
And they needed it badly.

I live in Ohio. I follow the state news, The Governor's actions.
The people of Springfield got help, because of what Trump said in the debate.
I have absolutely no problem with those people getting help.
They needed it.

For the record, there are people in Springfield that reported their pets were eaten.
Go figure.

Until Vance becomes Vice President, he still represents a constituency here in Ohio.
He was doing his job, whether you agree with his style or not.

It does have citations. But a group of people can control the content, what is featured and what is omitted. As an experienced researcher I have seen this can make all the difference. Let's say you want to find out who Kamala Harris is. Here are links to Wikipedia and Conservapedia, which also has citations:
