Is it a sin to work on Saturday or Sunday?

I'm gonna say no...it's a sin to not take care of your family...and if you have a job where you may have to work on Sunday, so be it....there's no Sabbath laws anymore anyway...

God gave Sabbath as an eternal day of rest - ie refrain from work, the rabbis have even defined 39 categories of what work is.
the passage, "Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" means that as humans we all need a day of rest and time spent with God.
However, although God loves that we set the day aside for him, it is understood that people and life are MORE important than the Sabbath, therefore if you need to work to care for someone, or someone is in need of your help, they are more important than keeping the Sabbath, and therefore work is permitted.
From my experience actually trying to have a day of rest is actually quite difficult! Give it a go sometime.

The sabbath was part of a covenant with the Jews. Christians are spiritual Jews who obey God from the rest faith.

The ordinances of the Law were types and shadows of the Spiritual Law of Christ, the "Spirit of the Law". The sabbath was a type of our spiritual rest.

If you're submitted to God, you're now dead and dead men aren't subject to ordinances.

You can turn again to a form of the Law, as many denominations do, incorporating carnal ordinances designed to curb sin. That is, as Paul says, being "weak in the the faith". (No condemnation. God is able to make you to stand.)

If you believe it is wrong to work on Sunday, it will be a sin for you to do so. However, God did not impose that on you. Let Him minister the Word of liberty to you. It will have to be your choice. You can pick up "religious spirits" who minister guilt for things you're not responsible for. Bind them and tell them to leave in the name of Jesus.
“I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.”

It does not say you shall take a day of rest of your choosing because you need rest. The fact that people benefit from taking a break once a week is true. But it is not the commandment of the sabbath. The commandment of the sabbath is to rest on Saturday and the commandment has another part which is to remember the sabbath day , to keep it holy which means set apart for G-d. So simply taking a day off work does not keep the sabbath. Keeping the day holy , set apart for G-d is keeping the sabbath.

tehre are to many religions that say you should not work on a saturday or a sunday. god is not looking at that at all. he looks at our heart,and how right we are in our heart.

A person is not keeping the "principle" of sabbath by taking a day of their choosing off work once a week. They are perhaps keeping one of the principles behind the sabbath. But not the entire sabbath. There is more to the sabbath than resting. There is a specific day we are told to keep holy and set apart to G-d.
I can at least respect the Sunday sabbath keepers in the fact that they honor it as a day set apart for G-d. Even though they have gotten the day wrong , at least they are keeping the day holy.
I can also respect those who say that they keep every day holy by walking in the rest found in Christ by living in the Holy Spirit everyday.
But the viewpoint that reduces the sabbath to , I need day off. I have trouble respecting that viewpoint.
