Is Demon Hunter really a Christian Band?

Why would that effect your way of thinking? If you like it, like it. What's the big deal about them starting off as a joke,, then making another album because of popularity?

I guess I look at like if they were just making a joke out of the whole metal scene, then by supporting them, I would be sort of making myself the butt of the joke. I'm not saying that's the way I will continue to feel or even if I still won't by the first album, but reading that they started out as just a joke still bummed me out a little.

they've got a new cd coming out at the end of the year, iirc (if i recall correctly). i think their site has some news in that regard...

HUNTERS! Sorry it's been so long since we've updated the news. We have been ... well, BUSY. We have started writing the new record, which as of right now is still untitled. It's coming along amazing, we are so excited to get back in the studio in July. It looks as if this record will be out in October. So far, that is what we can share right now. Hunters - get excited! Hunting season begins ... AGAIN.

How can a band that has the word "Demon" in their name be christian. Demons are polar opposites of God's holiness! Why would christians glorify the occult by naming themselves after demons?!? I'll bet they don't even have one worship song on their cd! And why would Christians name their album "Summer of Darkness". What fellowship does the light have with the darkness? I hope you all realize the lies that you are being fed.

Straight up, Through the black rocks! have it on One of the Solid State rocks discs( i think 3).

Yes they are a christian band. and dont say they are not because they are on Resident evil apocalyse track because a lot of christian bands are touring with secular bands to get their population and fan rate up. examples of that would be reliant k, thousand foot krutch, demon hunter, blindside, and many more. but yes demon hunter is definitely christian.

Why is it sad? A Christian artist needs to sell his product just as much as a Christian chef needs to sell his. Maybe if the band is ministry oriented and they were focused more on demographics and profit there would be a problem, but a band of Christians creating art for art's sake and glorifying God through that art should not feel bad for jumping at opportunities to share their art with a larger audience.

This maybe, an odd idea, but I am talking to you from the year 2022. This topic hasn't been spoken about for many years, wether demon hunter is Christian though it seemed by what read most acknowledged that demon hunter is Christian, but Demon Hunter is still making music and is bringing out a new cd this year called exile it will be their 11th CD. They made a CD of acoustic versions of their already done songs from other CDs, the title was songs of death and resurrection. They say that its technically their 11th CD and exile is their 12 but I don't count s.o.d.r as a new cd.
