It is well known that Ayurvedic medicines do indeed contain toxic heavy metals (put there for reasons of alchemy). See here, for example: Lead, Mercury, and Arsenic in US- and Indian-Manufactured Ayurvedic Medicines Sold via the Internet

Or here: Heavy metal poisoning from Ayurvedic medicines | BC Medical Journal

Your statement supposes that ALL Ayurvedic medicines contain toxic heavy metals, but what you are not asking, is what about other types of herbs and plants may contain heavy metals? What about the vegetables on your table? Does it matter the country of origin or does contamination have to do with soil health or the process involved? What are the amount of heavy metals? What amount of heavy metals are considered toxic? Are we to avoid ONLY Ayurvedic herbs. What if the same Ayurvedic herbs were grown outside of India or if the herbs were not processed using an Ayurvedic system, would they contain heavy metals? I could say that all plants can contain heavy metals and even your backyard garden could be contaminated. Should we avoid eating?

You're missing the point. Toxic heavy metals are deliberately added to Ayurvedic medicines, in large quantities.

Ignoring the religious issues for the moment, that alone is a good enough reason to avoid Ayurvedic medicines.

And with regard to religion, the preparation of Ayurvedic medicines involves Hindu prayers and rituals. That is also a good reason for Christians to avoid them.

I could say that all plants can contain heavy metals and even your backyard garden could be contaminated.

In tiny quantities, perhaps. Not the same thing.
