There is this community, I've been part of it for years now. They all Know I'm a Christian And while they mostly are not Christian, They Value my presence there because I'm also a particle physicist. Yeah. I know.. I just really really like science.

Recently, A false prophet came to the forums, At first, I spoke kindly to him, Later on, he began attacking people and I confronted him, I fought this false prophet on behalf of a people who didn't even believe in God.

Then the insults toward him came from the group, I don't even want to repeat them here. I'm hurt, They all Knew I Believed in and worship God. And even knowing that they said the things they did to that man. I'm Angry, I'm offended, I'm hurt, They had shown me respect because I had shown them respect, But when they insulted God, Just to Insult that false prophet. It was like someone stabbed my heart.

I had shown them infinite respect, Why can't they, If anything Else, just respect that God is important to others? I'm beside myself, I may not ever return to that place.

Those not led by the Spirit of God are led by other spirits which make people say hurtful and untrue things to one another. It is best to pray for all those concerned and ask Jesus to deliver them from such unclean spirituality an love on.

Good on you for defending the truth, but doing that we have to be careful not throwing our peals before swine lest they turn around and trample us. A hard lesson i've had to learn as well.

My advice is just to let it go and attend church service, read the scriptures and get your happiness in Jesus more full. Sorry to hear you went thru that

As an Engineer I can tell you that there is a lot of unbelief in the scientific community brother. As much as we're supposed to be light unto the world, that much we shouldn't cast pearls of God's kingdom (spiritual and natural blessings) before pigs. Let go, brother. Like Paul, God will send you to someone else to witness/evangelize. Peace in Christ.

I take it you're talking about an online community. Forums should insist on very strict rules about being rude to other members. I'll pray for God to guide you and give you discernment about people.

Thank you, They do have policies there about how to treat people, But, as with many communities, the final call goes to the Admin there. The Admin at that community, He's some sort of new age spiritualist, to be honest, I don't know what he believes in, But I know he doesn't believe in the Christian God. So he tends to let people really say some off the wall things about God.

I've done my best to tolerate it there, But, It gets difficult. It's a science community and I love science, But, I won't abandon God. So many times over the years, I've had to ask them, Hey look If you have a problem with so and so person address it to him or her,.. Telling them they don't have to slander God. They always apologize and say Sorry Shadow, We didn't mean you.

But, even if it's not directed at me, It's still hurtful. You guys are right though, I need to just get away from that community. As you guys have probably noticed, There is something going on politically, society never been so blatantly ill toward Christianity in the modern day that I can recall.

That's the thing If you really study, intelligent design is something a whole lot of scientists believe in, There is even a theory called "Directed panspermia" Which strongly suggests Life was put here on this Earth, Einstein, The world famous physicist, Actually had a belief in "a" God, Einstein didn't believe in the God you and I believe in, But He looked at the universe and saw how beautiful it was, And he considered, How can such a beautiful thing, Be completely random.

Many, Many Scientists actually believe in God or if not, The possibility of God. They are open to it.
The problem is, There are many many people who do not believe in God And the thing is, Science works on Natural law and provable facts. We can't Summon God, We can't Test God, We can't Falsify God. So Science Doesn't recognize God empirically. But, Many Many scientists will admit. Science in no way has ever disproven God, in fact, any scientist worth his salt will admit that.
Couple that with the fact that The observer effect has literally driven at least two physicists on record to declare that God must be real because it's the only thing that could explain the observer effect.

The problem is, By their very nature, Scientists are like Preachers/or professors or ministers, It's in their nature to approach people and give them the words they want to hear. Many times, A scientist, even though they claim to be incredibly professional, Will buckle under pressure and tell people what they want to hear.. They are fallible. And they seek for their words to be popularly accepted, So yes, A great many scientists will pander to the atheist crowd.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Will often pander to the atheist crowd, But one person asked him if he himself was an atheist, He declined to answer. And here is why.

Many scientists do believe in "A" God, It's just not our God, and they don't like to admit that.

Einstein's God was "Spinoza" This is a belief system that focuses on Thought and energy, Spinozism - Wikipedia

They don't like to admit this because ultimately, they have to admit to the atheist crowd, that they do believe in a God. However, It's uncommon to meet a serious researcher who will proclaim they are fully atheist.

I am sorry for the treatment you have had and sorry to say that this is what Christians are going to have to get used to as we are warned of this very thing many times in the Bible.

It doesn't make it any easier but take heart as this is proof that you are following faithfully.
There comes a time when we have to step away from circumstances such as yours and leave these people to their own devices.

Point out to the posters that their being crude about God is highly offensive to you and if they value you they should not use that language on any thread you post on.

last ask the mod why he doesn't follow the rules of the site. Give him clear examples of where he should have steped in and stop namecalling etc.

Yes! My father became an atheist in college and made sure my fourteen-year-old brother agreed with him. I told my brother that no one has proven there is no God, so my father's logic failed. He agreed. So now my brother is an agnostic.
