And I dont know what to get him. I really want it to be something he will remember me by and appreciate and something he would use. Do you have any ideas?

Get him one of those fancy sterling silver tooth pick cases...

You would know him better than any of us...

The tooth pick case would be something never forgotten...:)

Are the youth of the church not putting forth the money to buy him a mutual gift?

If he's going to be a youth minister some where here are some gift ideas:

Day Planner (have his name put on it.)

Gift Card or Gift certificates (christian supply shop and or bookstore, restaurant)

A Youth pastor appreciation plaque or greeting card (acknowledging his role as youth minister)

A personal gift is a nice gesture, but make sure you're not putting him in an awkward position, receiving gifts from a single female member of the group he oversaw. Get people together on this.

He must be moving on to a new job? Get him something that would be useful for his next phase in life. Something that will make him look respectable in his new office, a map of the new city, a coupon book, a book on handling teens (joke gift).

But really, I think the letter (above) will mean much more to him than a gift. If he is dedicated to the ministry, then changed lives are a cherished commodity for him.

If he is moving to another city, then packing will be an issue and he won't want too many extra things to bring. Restaurant certificates work across state lines.

Ah...isn't this the youth minister that you mentioned in another
thread? you believed he didn't like you / he hated you?

Even though he had told you that he didn't hate or dislike you???

You seemed sure he didn't like you... and you wanted him to like you.
(that's how it came across to me in your other thread.)

I did ask you if you had a romantic interest in him...I checked back on the other
thread the other day and you hadn't responded to my question yet.
