We just had baby #2 end of September and we think ourselves very lucky. I would like to have mor children but hubby is worried how we'll manage - lets hope the Lord shows him that we will manage .

Hi...I am new here, but thought I would jump in here.

We have five so far...3 boys 2 girls. (Hubby jokingly says a "full house, boys over girls"). We go back and forth on having more...there are a few big issues (health issues) that we really have to take into account with any future decisions. We really would love to have more though, but we will see.

I just realized the last time I posted was back in '07... and we had a suprise baby in '08! So I have 9 living children, 6 boys and 3 girls (& 2 with the Lord).

LOL Surprise babies are fun aren't they!!!! We had one that I wouldn't even test for because hubby was deployed...after a few months and me not being able to sleep on my belly anymore, I finally gave in and took a test.

After my son was born, I went on bcp and wound up having a miscarriage. My son and the baby would've been about a year apart........ to the day. I told my mom and my ex-mother-in-law that I never wanted to use birth control again because I didn't want to ever suffer the pain of another miscarriage. They both made some really cruel remarks to me. My ex decided that we should use some sort of birth control. I got pregnant with our daughter. I was nursing her when I found out that I was pregnant with our next son. Our son was born via c-section. When that son was about seven months old my ex sat me down and told me that I needed to get a paternity test done on him. He then proceeded to tell me that he had a vasectomy behind my back after our daughter was born. I had put up with over five years of a wife-beating, drug-addicted alcoholic husband. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I left him. I was in the middle of a custody battle that I eventually lost. I had just met my future husband about two or three weeks earlier. I found out that I was pregnant from a previous relationship (not the father of my other three.) When I told the father, he made it very clear to me that he didn't want anything to do with the baby. I was very pro-abortion. This very famous clinic messed up my abortion and damaged my uterus. They suggested that I get my tubes tied. I decided against it because I couldn't afford it. About 18 months later I gave birth to my youngest daughter. I originally wanted to do a VBAC. I never got very big with any of my babies. My doctor ran the tests on me back then to determine if the baby was healthy or not. He figured that she would weigh between 9-9 and a half pounds. My doctor gave me a list of warning signs that meant that we should do another C. I pretty much memorized that list. My daughter was over two weeks late. My doctor was out of town. The doctor on standby would not listen to me when I told him that my baby was going to be big. He actually had them setting up the incubator and kept telling me that I had to be early, there was no way that this could be a full-term baby. He kept saying that we'd be lucky if she weighed 5 lbs. I kept telling the standby doctor about the burning sensation along the c-section scar and I pointed out to him that my lower abdomen was starting to bruise. At one point I grabbed his tie and said "YOU NEED TO DO A C-SECTION!" I don't know how the nurses calmed me down, but I did do a VBAC. She was 9 lbs., 5 oz. I wasn't married. My mother was there for the whole thing. I got to see my daughter for a few minutes before they rushed me off to emergency surgery to repair my ruptured uterus. They determined that my uterus had suffered great damage (no kidding!) and that I would never be able to carry a child again. While I was still on the operating table, my mother consented for them to tie my tubes. When my husband and I did get married, we consulted a fertility specialist. He reviewed my records and did a few exams of his own. He said there was no way I could carry a child to term now. I'd heard that one before. So, we went to a different specialist for a second opinion. The second opinion matched the first. I never got my tubes "untied." I never did IVF, etc. I did get pregnant two more times and both of those times ended in miscarriages.

I've been pregnant a total of eight times. I've given birth to four children and I've raised one. My husband and I fostered five children from two different families for a few years. We always had room in our hearts for them and we made room in our home for them. We were prepared to adopt them if their mothers didn't straighten up. Both moms cleaned up their acts. It was the most joyously painful experience to give the children back to them.

Some people don't think I'm quiverful. I'm not sure if I am or not. I just know that I'm incredibly blessed!

lol, yeah...sometimes a story like that is much better told in company of people that actually do want to listen. That's why I don't tell much of my first labor (well, that and I don't remember much...comas tend to make you forget things). I have found it is a very hard story to write out when the audience has mixed reviews on wanting to read it. I am glad you wrote it here though...thanks!!!

Hi my5blessings! It's fun to run into you here on the forums! I told you I thought we probably would.

I have a total of seven living children.

Let's see one son just turned 30 (which is just not possible ) and he's happily married to a gal who is almost my younger twin...we are very much alike! He was homeschooled.

Our next son is on the later end of his twenties, graduated college with his degree in BS (YAY for him). He seriously seeing someone but hasn't "asked the question" yet. He was public schooled and just quietly made his way through school.

Our next son is earlier twenties but he just finished Job Corp and he's having a baby in spring! I'm going to be a Gramma! He was private and public schooled and hated it and I wish now that he had been homeschooled.

Our next son JUST turned twenty and is living on his own with his best friend. He was going to college for music but when he got his own place found out that he had to work FT to pay his bills and that working and college FT is too much. Now he thinks I'm amazing for working 40+ hours a week and going to school. He was homeschooled.

Our next is a girl! YAY! She just turned nineteen and is still living at home, but she is going to finish her Associates degree this term. She also just got a job 35+ hours and is trying to save up to move on out with roommates. She was private schooled and loved it.

Our son Elijah was stillborn and is with the Lord

Our next son is going to turn sixteen in a few days. He looks more and more like his uncles, dad, and brothers every day (who is this man inhabiting my son's body?). He's homeschooled and we use a curriculum where a traveling teacher drops in and visits us, does the testing, etc. for state requirements.

Our last is another girl! Being the youngest and a girl she is pretty darn spoiled--heehee. She just turned fourteen and has thankfully just gotten past the *sigh and rolleyes Mooooooooooom* stage. She's also homeschooled.

Our final was a surprise at the end of our lives but it was a miscarriage (a little too late in life I suspect).

Soooooooo...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I have 2 kids, who are almost grown (18 and 16). Hubby and I got married right before I had my 19th bday and #1 was born 1 yr and 2 days later. #2 was born 22 months later. I was an only child and had wanted 5 kids, but because of financial and family pressures hubby had a vasectomy shortly after #2 was born. We didn't know the Lord until AFTER all of this. I have regretted that decision for so long! In 2000 I felt the Lord tell me to pray for a baby of my own (I had been thinking what if we could adopt). So, since then I have prayed and prayed for this child. It took several years for hubby to understand, but one day during praise and worship he said that the Lord showed him our baby and he knew that he wanted this child in our lives. In the past year my husband has come to me saying that the Lord gave him a birthdate, and seperately the Lord gave us this child's name. We knew it was of the Lord because it was the same name and it is a name you don't hear every day. Last night I had a dream about my husband holding this baby and in the dream I asked the baby "when are you ever going to get here?"
When I told my hubby about the dream he told me that by what the Lord had told him, I will get pregnant in June.
I don't tell this story very often because I get "those looks" like this woman has lost it, but I felt like this was a place that I could share what the Lord has shown us.
I know one thing, when the Lord heals our mistake of a vasectomy, we are going to leave it in His hands and add to our family as many as He sees fit, though at 38, I guess I might not be giving him much time to work. I do truly regret not knowing the Lord and making such a grave error in our family.

I noticed that I posted on here in 2007 then we had three and now we have 4! Basically almost exactly a year after that post, we had another baby girl! I feel my family is complete now....but I still welcome more babies if God gives them to me....I just do not "plan" on having anymore....but we are not going to drastic measures to prevent them either. Children are a blessing from God!
