How Does God Want Relationships to be?

My boyfriend and I decided to take a break for awhile, as we have been having a lot of problems with our relationship. We're not sure if wwe'll get back together, but if we do, I would like to feel ready.
I think our problem when we were together was that we did things our way, not God's way; we didn't do things the way we were supposed to. So my question is this: how should a relationship be? I want to know what God says on relationships, and what the bible says on love and marriage and everything. Thank you everyone.

The bible is crystal clear on sex. It is only right between married husbands and wives.
that in a marriage, while the man is the one in charge, it is also a marriage of equals.

By that I mean that the husband is to follow the example of Jesus and be wiling to give up Everything for his bride/wife. If your boyfriend/husband loves you that much, how difficult then is the command to obey your husband.

I’ll always found this so beautiful and makes me want to find the right and get married now..it’s more behind what makes a relationship good or not I suppose. It takes something from us as well. I want to be able to pray with my boyfriend/husband. My first post on Christian Forums, not the best but it’s a start!

My favourite bible quote in regards to this is the infamous Corinthians quote "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." If you replace the word love with whomever you love and it fits they are probably the right one for you.

God also intends for relationships to be wholesome, remember the bible instructs we wait till marriage for intercourse which is why I recommend getting married early if you can
